The Trial against Oscar had been the result of his attempt a few months before to Sue Lord Queensbury for libel. In that Trial witness after witness had given evidence against him testifying to his activities among male prostitute's cross dressers. The first Trial Oscar Wilde attended had become a media sensation in England, but the second Trial outdid the first seeing him spat on in the streets outside the Court and called filth and scum. Lord Queensbury had been carried through the streets and cheered as a hero. Newspapers and public speakers seemed to talk about nothing but Oscar's sex life during the Trial. Some scholars have observed that Oscar had no Idea how shocking Londoner's found the descriptions of his gay sex life. When he did discover how hated he was it was too late to escape the public's indignation as he was in custody. chronology: Cpt Brett Crsier removed from command. The United States Navy Commander has been removed from command of his Aircraft Carrier after voicing concerns about the safety of his Staff on board the giant ship. The Cpt said confining the sailors to the ship during the Corona outbreak was unnecessary and placed them at risk of infection. Mr Trump's Minister removed the Cpt from command after hearing of his comments. Democrats in Washington DC have expressed doubt's about the removal of the Cpt. They commented that just throwing him overboard at a time when his extensive experience would help solve the corona crisis seemed more harmful than helpful. chronology: Mozart's Grave still attracts fans from around the world. Austria has a rich cultural past, especially in music. But one of Austria's most famous sons is also a subject of mystery. No one knows how he died or where he is buried. Some say he was poisoned, others that he died from this or that illness. And no one knows where he is buried. When he died he was broke. No money at all. So his friends arranged for a burial in a paupers grave at a cemetery. Poor folks never have grave stone's, and decades after he was buried no one could remember just where in the cemetery he was buried. Even worse, according to cemetery workers the grave he was buried in was a paupers communal grave, so even if it was found there would be around 6 other bodies in the ground mixed up with his. Oh dear. But all over the world Mozart's fans called for his grave to be found and his remains properly honoured. Eventually researchers claimed to have found the grave site in the cemetery, well it maybe the right one, maybe not. But they placed a gravestone there anyway. So now fans can visit their beloved composer's grave and leave flowers and pay their respects. chronology: San Francisco Police Officers haunting work. With over 1500 people jumping to their deaths from the Golden Gate Bridge Authorities in San Francisco have tried many ways to prevent the deaths. One method was to ask Police to patrol the Bridge after 6pm when foot visitors to the bridge are excluded. So each night police patrol cars would drive across the beautiful bridge on the lookout for any people potentially there to commit suicide. Officers look carefully at the walkways, listening for any sign of people. But it seems that ghosts still linger around the bridge. Policemen have heard screams from the fog filled night time bridge, and shadowy figures have been seen amongst the swirling sea fogs drifting across the bridge. On another bridge near the Golden Gate Bridge a police officer is said to haunt the bridge. Cars driving over the bridge have been waved to stop by a policeman who vanishes as they pull over. Most likely fellow Policemen around the world would doubt many of the reports of San Francisco ghost's observing that the City is famous for it's mysterious swirling thick sea fogs, and San Francisco Bay has everything from seagulls to seals that could make sounds mistaken for screaming. But what of the story of the SS Tennessee? The old sailing ship which sank in 1855 has been seen often silently sailing under the Span of the Golden Gate Bridge. And many of the witnesses are credible people. Mysterious San Francisco. chronology: This date in 1969 Anti Vietnam War Protests in the USA reach critical levels that included refusals to pay the War Tax sir charge by hundreds of thousands of Americans. Hundreds of thousands of Americans were refusing to be drafted for the war. Americans disagree on just what exactly the American people at the time were protesting. While some believe it was anti war sentiment in the USA, others claim it was how people were being being forced to fight in the war, there was also anger over how expensive the war had become. There was also a belief among many Americans that the war was out of control and would never end. Vietnam Veterans were even joining protest marches. By 1969 even the media in America appeared to be anti war. U.S. Military staff however insisted that giving way to communist aggression would set a serious president. chronology: This date in 2010 29 Miners are killed in a West Virginia coal mine. Americans are shocked at the high number of killed miner's. Some in America began debating whether it was time for the country to move to Wind Turbine and Solar power and end coal mining altogether. The American Red Cross and Salvation Army rushed support volunteers to assist miner's families at the disaster. chronology: Suzy Lamplugh murder just got mysterious. In Great Britain the story of how Suzy Lamplugh vanished after meeting Mr Kipper to show him around a flat for sale has fascinated people in Britain for over 30 years. But now a new analysis of the disappearance by an ex Scotland Yard Detective has turned the case on it's head and suggested a new suspect. He says there is a good reason Detectives could not solve the 1986 meeting with Mr Kipper, it never happened. He says the mistake made by Scotland Yard was that they presumed that the Estate Agent had gone to meet Mr Kipper based on her work diary, he insists that the diary entry was just a cover so she could meet someone during work time. He believes he knows who that someone is. Scotland Yard say that they welcome any new leads in the case. The story of Ms Lamlughs meeting with Mr Kipper has become part of English folk lore, but the Detective insists it was a myth from the start.
