chronology: AI to translate Ancient Text's.

But wait a while wirreclubbers before you try to Download an App that will allow you to translate King Tut's Diary.

One topic that puzzles some people is why Agencies like the NSA cannot translate the ancient languages of places like Iraq and Egypt. If the NSA can crack codes why not ancient Iraqi languages?

The task of code breaking and translation is like lemon's and limes, they are two different tasks.

Code breaking software looks for hidden word's within a jumble of cypher, translators look for strings of words in a language.

So even when the NSA received their first computer from Seymour Crey they were no nearer to solving the riddle to the distant Iraqi libraries.

Translators are pessimistic that any programme will ever auto translate an ancient language. To be a good a good translator you need intuition and a lot of down to earth common sense.

As well as knowing the often triple meaning of word's, translators also have to beware the often eccentric humour of archaeologists who sometimes leave behind fake texts for others to find.

Even AI may never be able to replace scholars who have long memories and decades of experience at dusty desks. But some people anyway see the new AI as the new era of translation.

chronology: Her Honour Judge Amy Jackson probably will not have a pleasant weekend. Roger Stone has just had his sentence commuted by President Trump.

Judge Amy struggled to reign in Roger during the Trial and even threatened to jail him if he did not comply with the courts rules during the trial. And when judge Amy sentenced Roger to prison she called his crime disgusting. But now Roger is free as a bird with his sentence put on hold.

Americans have generally reacted with fury at the action of Mr Trump. Roger just about scraped the dregs of the gutter and threw them over Hillary and even young Chelsea during the 2016 election. American smear politics hit a new low, with Roger enjoying every minute of the dirty business. So, Roger's enemies were filled with joy at the prospect of him behind bars.

But Roger has dodged the bullet, and will be relaxing with a cool drink of something strongly alcoholic tonight.

Old timers in Washington probably don't really care one way or the other about Roger. He will be banned from any kind of official involvement in Washington politics, due to his criminal record. But for many Americans, a stiff drink, or two, or three, will be tossed back tonight to take the edge off their disappointment at not seeing Roger in a orange Jump suite.

Hillary and Chelsea probably just shrugged when told Roger was let off prison. But their friends and supporters will be livid.

chronology: Harry S Truman, Lyndon Johnson, Richard M Nixon, Jimmy Carter, George H Bush, Bill Clinton, Hillbillies one and all, huh?

Folks who live in rural Apalanchia were often called 'Hillbillies' due to their supposed links to the Scotch Irish immigrants who settled in the mountains of Apalanchia in the 18th and 19th century. The 'Billy' name being short for William, or more exactly William of Orange.

Being more or less forced out of Ireland by the Church of England who were no fans of reformed churches, the Ulster migrants were sent to America.

Many Ulster migrants became prominent leaders in America. And many became U.S. Presidents.

Some American scholars dismiss the Billy name as having any connection to King Billy. They say the name was only used in the 19th century. But the direct link of American Presidents to Ulster is without doubt.

President Obama is also a distant Ulsterman.

Hmmm, let's face it wireclubers, we always knew Ulster folks were the secret rulers of the world.

Tomorrow is the 'glorious 12th' for Orange men. So if you see Mr Obama and Mr Carter secretly driving to some secret get together you now know where they are going.

chronology: Orange Parades on the 'QT'.

Members of the Orange Order have been privately celebrating the 12th today with small band marches out of the way in back streets in Liverpool Belfast and Glasgow. There have also been quiet street parties with families gathering to enjoy meeting up with old friends from the Fraternity. Despite the lockdown many Orange Order members managed to enjoy a fine old day.

Belfast probably enjoyed one of its most peaceful 12ths ever due to the ban on marches. But member's of the Orange Order insist they were not to blame for trouble during Parades in days gone by.

Just before the lock down in Glasgow earlier this year there were street brawls between Irish Nationalist folks and people arguing with them about the Ballymurphy shootings of catholics in 1972.

But today anyway, no trouble in Belfast it seems. Orange Order folks insist they are celebrating culture not hate. And lot's of fun was enjoyed at street parties.

chronology: This date in 1863 the Draft Riots in New York City.

Martin Scorcesee in his Movie 'Gangs of New York' vividly and accurately depicted the anti Draft Riots of 1863. The rioters were most poor Irish immigrants to America who were already suspicious of English speaking Authorities. They saw themselves being used as cannon fodder, even worse, some saw their conscription as just another English plot to kill them off wholesale.

The riots are considered to be the worst in U.S. History.

chronology: Invisibility, is not far away.

While a invention like the Medicine in the movie The Hollow Man is still a long way off, there have been some odd accounts of people and machines that seem to be reports of invisibility.

One report is from a hang glider enthusiast who was shocked to see a huge circular aircraft that suddenly became visible in front of him when he was raised higher by winds. From below the Craft was invisible, but from above it could be seen.

Another report is from a Police Officer who confidentiality told another former detective about an disturbing experience he had.
The Officer was off duty and had gone to look for some friends who were in some fields near his home. As he walked alone through the fields he became aware of someone following him. Sounds of someone walking behind him followed him through the tall grass field. When he stopped, the sounds stopped. He looked around but could see no one. Then while he was stood still he heard the sounds start again, and he saw the knee high grass being parted by some invisible person walked towards him. He now was shocked and pulled out a knife he had and faced the invisible person exposed by the grass space. The invisible person then turned and walked away clearly leaving a path through the grass and making footstep sounds.

So is there already invisibility available to U.S. Agencies? All we can say is'maybe' .

chronology: Napoleon formally surrenders to British Officials this date in 1815. It is the end of the surge of progressive politics in Europe for the era. After the victory of Americans against reactionary established institution's, Napoleon became the leader of progressive ideals in Europe. He faced huge coalitions of conservative forces and eventually was worn down and surrendered.

But history buffs still argue over whether Napoleon was progressive at all. While the American Republic followed through with democratic reforms, Napoleon is always accused of simply using progressive sentiment to achieve his own personal power hopes.

Who knows wirreclubbers? Napoleon is still considered one of histories greatest leader's.

No country had successfully exploded a Atomic weapon, despite claims of having done so. Trinity Field was steeped in secrecy, and American researchers had implemented a procedure of using three teams of work crews at the Field. One set up what was the experimental bombs, the other set up a pile of hundreds of tons of TNT which was detonated'for comparison purposes' . Conspiracy theorists insist no country ever successful exploded a Atomic weapon, what you are seeing in the Hollywood remastered movie films are explosions of huge TNT stockpiles.

Even the work crews in New Mexico never knew whether the explosion's were atomic or regular TNT. Lookout Mountain Studio in Los Angeles is said to have been the location were fake Atomic blasts films were used to 'sex up' the blast's blending footages of huge TNT blasts with sunrise images. Hollywood actor's who entered Lookout Mountain Studio were under strict secrecy contracts.

chronology: Giza in Egypt still holds surprises.

The reason that the Pyramids have stood so long without any sinkage to speak of is because they have stood on a solid base of solid limestone.

With new technology at hand to scan the underground, explorer's in Giza have found a vast network of tunnels and caves beneath the ancient site. Its not clear yet if the tunnels are naturally formed or were built in the distant past. But enthusiasts for Egypt history have a potentially new piece to solving the riddle of the Giza past.

But just when one new insight becomes apparent, more questions arise. It now seems that the outer granite blocks that were used for the outer layer of the Great Pyramid were quarried from a area 500 miles from Giza. So how were around a million blocks weighing two tons transported 500 miles to add to the million limestone blocks used for the inner core. And why did the Egyptians go to such epic efforts to transport granite when they had limestone available? .

One man suggested that they liked the colour of granite. Don't know wirreclubbers, moving around 2 million tons of rocks 500 miles just because it looks nice seems unlikely.

Zanjan: Limestone is too soft and ugly to be used for construction. It crumbles with weathering over time but these blocks made for good infill and wouldn't be exposed to weathering. Whereas Granite is forever, very strong, and can be polished to a beautiful gloss.

They also used granite to construct the interior ramps, where new blocks were guided through by ropes, posts, and along upper rails as they were hauled up the incline.

The granite blocks were floated on boats down the river and through man-made canals, leading from the Nile right up to the pyramids. The canals and boat docks were discovered about 20 years ago, along with the ruins of a palace where the Pharoah could oversee the construction.

chronology: Mr Barr goes to Hollywood.

Aterney General Mr Barr has slammed Hollywood and Big Tech for 'Cowtowing' to China in their business deals.

Media folks in China will probably point out that Hollywood has faced the same criticism going back almost a century. In the last decades of the British Empire Hollywood Movies were popular everywhere from India to Africa. But many Activists accused Hollywood of not highlighting their political parties during that era. Hollywood has always walled a tightrope when making Movies for it's staggering global audience. In every country on earth, even on Army and Navy camp's of potential enemies of the USA, Hollywood Movies were popular everywhere. But stayed well out of high pressure disputes of the times.

In Hollywood studeos canteen's however many of the actors and stage crew's made no secret of their support for independence for India or Ireland, or their disdain for Spain's fascist Government, or Adolf Hitler, or Joe Stalin. But when movie's were produced the actor's stayed out of the public arguments.

Few people even today are aware of the staggering reach that Hollywood had in days gone by. Merchant Marine sailors will tell of people watching Hollywood film's deep in the Amazon and Congo jungles, even during the Cold War folks in Moscow watched movies from Hollywood.

So today in Los Angeles and China people will likely say people have always made comments like Mr Barr.

Zanjan: Shoes, limestone is only one small component in making cement, which is a kind of glue, like mortar. Cement is an ingredient of concrete, which is made with agrigates of sand, gravel and cement paste. Cement doesn't last very long - it cracks and crumbles with weathering; concrete gets stronger as it gets older.

The ancient Romans made really good cement that lasted a very long time because their secret ingredient was volcanic ash.

chronology: Just an aside Zan. I was talking to some Guys on a construction site one time and I asked them why they placed really long high quality steel rods in the concrete pillar's they were erecting. They told me the steel rods give added strength to pillars making them secure supports.
Folks who live in the outback of Alaska would probably be amazed at the intricate and complex work the construction guys put into buildings in the lower 48 and Europe.
I remember watching the guy's build a floor for the building. First scooping out the soil. Then laying a layer of rubble, then going over the rubble with heavy roller's for days, then laying concrete. Then checking the concrete to make sure it was level, then placing steel rods, then placing flooring plates on the rods. Then checking each plate to make sure it is level to a fraction of a inch. I have probably left out some other work. The work those guy's put into the job is amazing. And nothing is done for expediency, everything is done to perfection.

Blackshoes: Zanjan I've been In construction my entire life. You may know a great deal about a number of things. However, I can tell you limestone is a major construction material that's been used for centuries. The concrete with volcanic ash used by the Roman was called hydraulic cement
is still used *today, of which they have improved by 100 fold. Today's chemistry today is beyond compare.

Zanjan: The ancient Egyptians didn't know how to make cement. They used only what they could find in nature.

Nobody uses limestone blocks in construction; albeit, there are several different kinds of limestone. I think you're thinking of sandstone - sandstone is also sedimentary rock but much stronger due the quartz content and is used in block/brick facings to this day.

The Egyptians learned early on that using stone rubble for infill didnt work. As much as one can appreciate their attempts to re-cycle, pyramids made that way eventually collapsed in a heap.

Zanjan: Chron, those rods are called rebar. Indeed, construction has to be specially designed when building in regions where there's extreme fluctuation of temperatures - thawing and freezing wrecks havock, and is the reason bridges have to be continually monitored for stability.

Visit Germany and Russia - their WW2 installations remain but in ruins, with rebar sticking out of the crumbling concrete pillars and fallen floors and blocks. Unlike the Temple at Ankgor Wat, which was built with sandstone blocks, that concrete didn't last one whole generation. We simply dont build anything to last a thousand years anymore.

In Alaska, you'd probably see, today, that same building sitting on an angle, a bit sunken, due to the recent permafrost melting. It might even be abandoned because of ancient methane gas being released from the melting.

chronology: Interesting Zan. I keep an open mind about Ankgor Wat. It is such a spectacular building achievement. It is one of those 'must see' places that professional folks have to walk around.
As soon as middle class folks can take to the skies after this virus escapade they will be flying out there.

Hey, no disrespect to the folks up north. They just don't have access to the huge amounts of machinery and tools needed, or skilled building workers in most outback places.

But hey Zan, if Elon Musk has his way every inch of planet from the frozen tundra of Alaska, to the arid deserts of Sahara will have equal access to Wi-fi. So Zan, soon you could be stood in a supermarket in Canada, live video chatting to some one cutting up a monkey for dinner in Angkor Wat.

Mr Musk is about to change the world with his million mile battery. But can Elon stand up to the big Cartels who want to preserve the status quo? He is a two fisted fighter in business, but he will need both fists for this fight. I can see Mr Musk saying the same as Howard Hughes one time 'they may own the Government, they may own the Court's, but they do not own the Sky' .

There are a few other business magnates but, unlike Elon, they're not so much breaking the envelope as betting their bucks. I heard they all recently got their Twitter accounts hacked into by a bitcoin scam.
