chronology: Well let's just repeat, the United States was requested by the UN to remove Iraqi Forces from Kuwait. This the USA did. The UN based its request to the USA and other countries on the violation of fundamental Statute Laws of the UN such as acts of aggression and invasion by Nations. Iraq broke that law. Look it is possible to sympathise with Iraq when hearing them complain how Kuwait was pumping billions of dollars worth of oil which Iraq claimed came out of their oil fields. But the world community could not permit Iraq to simply march in and take the oil.

Iraq should have learned from Argentinas experience 10 years before. We don't know what started the fighting between Argentina and Great Britain, but London was not going to be just evicted from territory like that. In the real world fairy countries just cannot act like that. Even Mr Bush had to engage in months of protracted negotiations before enforcing UN orders to disarm Iraq in 2003. As a exhausted Polish Official at the conference to negotiate with Iraq at the time stated in an interview 'all efforts to resolve this impasse peacefully have been exhausted. We have only the military option left. Saddam has been made aware of this'.

Sir Cliff is said to be telling all in his new book. But it seems he is not telling anything about whether he is Gay.

For decades now, Sir Cliff has been rumoured to be Gay. But he has never confirmed or denied the rumour. 'My private life is private' he says when asked. For the last few years however he has lived with a former Catholic priest who he says is a dear friend. Sir Cliff has also called on the Church of England to legalise Gay Marriage.

So why is he such a gossip topic for being or not being gay? Well, Sir Cliff is a much loved celebrity of many gay men who worship him as much as his female fans do. But other Gays are definitely not fans of Sir Cliff, they say he has spent his life in the entertainment business sat next to public figures who have openly condemned gay people and he has never distanced himself from those people. If he is gay he is the biggest hypocrite in Show business they say. if he isn't then he is close friends with people who hate Gays.

Sir Cliff is standing firm tho in repeating that his private life is his business. Although his reported support for gay marriage will probably mean he has lost many of his old friends who he associated with at religious rallies.

chronology: This date in 2011 Mark Duggan is shot dead by police in London. His death would touch off days of rioting in London and other cities.

To this day event's at the shooting scene are disputed. One witness claimed police stopped the taxi Mark was in, dragged him from the cab and shot him. The cab driver said Mark jumped out of the cab when Police stopped it, he then started running away. He said the police shot him as he ran. The police say Mark jumped from the car and pulled out a gun and was about to shoot it out with police when they shot him.

Local people became furious when the media described Mark as a gangster and drug dealer. They said that was a pack of lies. Pretty soon flights broke out between local people and police who were being accused of giving the media false information about Mark. The flights turned into riot's, and soon huge fires were blazing in London.

The shooting of Mark was later judged lawful. However Mark's family won a Civil Case against the police and were awarded damages.

The case also had the strange story of a policeman involved in the shooting of Mark committing suicide. He believed the ghost of Mark was haunting him.

At Mark's funeral thousands of people lined the funeral route as his funeral car's drove past.

Lebanon has been rocked by a huge explosion on the same scale as the Texas City 1947 blast. At least 50 people killed thousands injured.

The blast is not thought to have been terrorist linked. Politicians in the district are stunned by the massive blast.

Countries have been sending condolences to Lebanon and offering assistance. But right now Beirut is in in a state of shock.

chronology: Lebanon update. Beirut is still stunned by the huge blast, which seems to be a repeat of the 1947 Texas City explosion. A ship loaded with nitrate seems to have exploded.

The American Red Cross has expressed condolences to their colleagues in Beirut Lebanon. The American Red Cross web site is accepting donations for disaster relief, but has not set up a Beirut section yet. The American Red Cross is busy with disaster's in the United States at the moment.

chronology: Picture slowly emerging of cause of huge Beirut explosion.

The massive blast appears to have occurred in a storage depot for Nitrate. The substance, thousands of tons of the stuff, has been stockpiled there, in a residential district for reportedly 5 years. It is impossible to say what actually triggered the huge blast as everything within the ground zero area was obliterated in less than a second.

Questions are being asked as to why such unstable material was being kept near residential housing, but Lebanon is a crowded area with little choice of zoning for hazardous materials. Also the country is in economic crisis and supervision by Authorities may have fallen to basic safety checks.

The chances of such a disaster happening in countries like the USA or Germany is virtually impossible due to strict Federal and State health and safety regulations.

It was a scene that in some ways ways was touching. A young mom and her children were sat at their apartment window watching something from the safety of their home.
Then instantly the picture changes and mom is lying on the floor and her children are unconscious around her. Reconsidered it becomes clear what happened, mom had been watching the first fire in Beirut, then the huge blast had blown in her windows and knocked her and her children out. The fact that the windows were safety glass saved her and her children's lives.

The mom must have had slight injuries, but thankfully she was able to gather her children and walk away. Without safety glass, she and her children would be dead.
