Being friends with moderators in Off Topic

Darth: So, many of you are on a moderator's friends' list. That is great, we love to chat and make friends on here! After all, we are chatters first.

However, being on our list does not entitle you to any special privileges. You are not exempt from being punished (I have a whole list of friends who can attest to that

). Another thing that you are not entitled to is information. A large part of being a moderator is having access to information that you do not have access to as a user. Please do not ask us about the inner workings of Wireclub or why your friends have been muted, etc. We will probably be polite the first time or two but after that, we might talk to you firmly because, frankly, it just makes you look suspicious. If you have a question about your account, by all means, contact us. However, do not contact us about your friend, unless you think there is a specific issue that needs to be addressed (e.g., your friend was muted but the others engaging in it were not).

Another thing, if you are lucky enough to have contact information for a moderator offline (i.e., Facebook, Skype, messaging service, email, etc.), please do not contact us with Wireclub questions/problems there. We are offline for a reason, we all have lives off of here. We could be working, with our families, driving, even sleeping. We are volunteers and do not get paid, so please respect our downtime. If we appear offline, it is most likely for a good reason. You can always send us a message using the envelope up top. If we are around, we will get back to you.

So, while you may be upset and frustrated, you will get a more satisfying and productive response, if you treat us with courtesy and respect. We will treat you with the same.
