Much of what you say here is either wrong (the Catholic Church didn’t exist until 1054?) or bloated with your personal assumptions and passed off as factual. And that bit about prophecies? Zanjan: Ghost, wherever Islam spread, it brought peace and unity to the peoples it conquered; before, they'd all been fighting each other. There was no compulsion in their teaching the Faith - that's clearly forbidden in the Quran.

People became Muslims so quickly because they were impressed by them.

Islam brought protection to slaves and those belonging to the other religions of God. It preserved native culture and helped the people prosper - before, they were unschooled. Muslims could read and taught their children to read. Their schools were the best in the world - they were the first to have hospitals and establish a free, full meal program for all of the poor.

In a brutal world, they were very sophisticated and benevolent. They had streetlights while the English were still running around in loincloths.

Zanjan: Groovius, I'm surprised you didn't know that part of Christian history - it was one church in name until the split - Church of Christ. Today, Christianity has so many divisions, folks think all these are different religions.

The modern Catholic church attributes Christian leaders as popes all the way back to Peter but they just made that stuff up.

The first papal coronation was held in 858 AD, at the old St. Peter's Basilica (built in the 4th century)- that was Nicolas. His jurisdiction was only in Rome at the time - this is the reason the schism began. By then, it had turned into the most corrupt place in the Mediterranean and in Christiandom .........there are many, many stories by contemporaries of how seedy that place was. When the old basilica was sacked in 846 AD, it was found to house a fortune in treasures and jewels.

Meanwhile, Muslim mosques and shrines were simple - nothing to steal, no gold, no jewels as this was forbidden.

That was a Biblical prophecy....go look it up in Revelations. Every Christian knows it.

Zanjan: "All empires bring peace" - some of them began with scorched earth policies. Not Islam.

God commanded all believers to offer peace treaties first - if that was rejected, then whack em. This has always been His Way. The Jews did the same thing.

In modern times, they dicker and dicker with peace negotiations, drawing them out over years with all sorts of conditions and bargains, and they're usually fighting as they discuss. There's no guarantee the treaty will continue when leadership changes.

No such nonsense in the old world - one made their offer with ONE chance for an adjustment - an army was camped outside your town. You were given hours, maybe a couple of days to make an executive decision.

If, later on, you waved a white flag, too bad; you'd still get whacked or taken into slavery.

The Celts, the people of England, were a tribal lot - meaning, no cities. That was a turn of phrase - the women often went bare-breasted, the men didn't wear pants, and animal skins were in vogue for the cooler days, eh. They painted their faces for war and their women fought alongside the men; their female archers cut off one breast to make their job easier.

By the time they were Christianized (early Middle Ages), Islam already had a good head start.

Zanjan: What people don't seem to realize is when a Messenger of God appears, the established religion is a powerhouse of influence.

God is patient to give them time to hear about and adjust to the New Revelation - traditionally, that has taken several hundred years. There's a prescribed time set for these institutions, then all hell breaks loose.

ghostgeek: The English are usually considered to have displaced the Celts in what is now called England. But focusing on the Celts, they may not have worn underpants but they certainly wore trousers:

The Celts' clothes showed their status and importance within the tribe. Men would wear a tunic with a belt, a cloak and trousers. Women wore dresses fastened with brooches.

We're looking at the medieval dress. Plaid trousers made from wool.....um, nope. There's a reason people don't wear wool next to their skin, except for hands and feet. They wove inner clothing from plant fibers -> linen, and also had silk for those who could afford it, fur and leather.

Men's trousers weren't like those we're familar with - one kind had feet in them and another kind they tied to their shoes. (I'm thinking to avoid ticks) Some just had skin tight hosery. Tribes dressed differently from each other.

Zanjan: The Celts began adopting Christianity around the 4th century, within the next two hundred years they had one of the most spiritual churches in the world; thus, the brand "Celtic Christianity".

hornchurchmale: pointless trying to debate with fanatics Islamics tend to be more deeply immersed in rain washing form a very young age and get upset at any comments or debates that may infer so called Mohammed etc is anything but absolute truth. Don't confuse religion with the people. People come in all shapes, sizes, and colours - religion doesn't. Culture is like what you find at garage sales - one man's treasure is another man's junk.

AretoNyx: As an atheist I know many Muslims. Islam is fine but it does not approve of me as a human without based on some scripture and interpretation. So any how I am ok with it as much as any other religion.
Some just make excuses in choice to harm other otherwise.
