Plus, given your feeling of being super scared, it's quite likely that that feeling would have kept you awake, too--as your adrenaline was probably flowing pretty well at that time. Perhaps it was an intruder or a ghost. Locking your door at night isn't a bad idea. I'd suggest that you pray for God's protection, but given that you seem to have no faith that God exists, that would probably be useless to you.
