Talking to Myself Because I Can.... Comments Welcome (Page 2) The giant midget: Ok Deb I will grant you the excuses for wear hats but I also must ad that the best way to coverup a bad hair day is a few bottles of extra strong hair gel Mohawk thinging like the Punkrockers Oh almost forgot WTF ever happened to the old tinfoil hats??.? Ovary Actor: That reminds me of an article I looked at the other day. An animal shelter made tin foil hats for their animals and said for people to invade their animal shelter instead of Area 51., >>> https://tinyurl.com/y3h8ar5j <<< The giant midget: That's clever marketing and promotion These people that manage these shelters / adoption centre ask for information and monetary fees to adopt these poor animals that's ridiculous and so outrageous I am sorry but if I am to pay for a animal that I will love and treasure for a enormous amount of money I rather buy from a reputable breeder Unfortunately for the animal at these shelters That's my story and I am sticking to it Ovary Actor: There are a lot of others who feel the same you do, but my daughter worked at the Humane Society in Washington D.C. for quite some time and then at an animal shelter in Virginia, and the fees they're asking for adoptions are minimal to what they spend. I've always been one to advocate for adopting animals vs going to a breeder, whether reputable or not - although there are exceptions if you're looking for something very specific to show, but I'm also aware that everyone has their preference. You could be getting a Beagle from a breeder for $400 when you can adopt one at a shelter for less than half that., The giant midget: Some families can't afford such fees to adopt a neglected animal They wish well for the animal What happens too a animal that a family can't afford the administration fee ?? Shelter loses the money and puts down the animal afterwards Nobody wins Ovary Actor: This is true, but those same families won't be purchasing from a breeder either, which is what the conversation started off about, but there are shelters that I'm aware of locally that do free adoption workshops and specials., There are also no-kill shelters, but yes, some do get put down. But animals also get put down for many other reasons other than lack of adoption popularity; behavioral issues and medical issues. There isn't a clear win, no, but if people stop going to a breeder because they think they'll get a better dog, or a classier dog, and spay / neuter your pets which means planning for and being prepared for owning an animal, then the shelters will be less populated. A lot of it is education and awareness. The giant midget: WTF is with people ordering fast food at a box joint . They either drove or walked to the establishment knowlly what kinda of food they sell and they already made up their mind on what they want ,because they had a craving for such food Than they spend countless hours at the order counter deciding on what they want . Than they try to somehow make changes to the fixed menu deyb_Deb: Monday March 22, 2021 Spring Sprung Yesterday Let's get outside for some sunshine, movement, flowers and bugs. The giant midget: I have been talking to myself often lately Maybe my stress levels are at its peak due to the construction job-site , it's been over full of tradesmen and their vehicles, supply chain transports , dumbest homeowners driving in and out. Yes I do hear voices in my head that give me some really good advice and ideas, I do thank the Gods and Goddesses of the construction industry that I don't act upon such voices in my head.
