What is Your Favorite Season of the Year? (Page 3) FunkyBiscuits82: Thought of another pet peeve of mine. Using the term "grown-ass." It's typically used in one of two contexts: A) "I'm a grown-ass woman. I can do what I want" B) "You're a grown-ass man who can't even pay his own bills." I just find it weird that it's meant to play down or play up someone's maturity level, but sounds anything but mature. ![]() deyb_Deb: If clean dishes are left in the dish strainer/drainer, it drives me crazy when the husband puts those dishes in the cupboards with some water still on them; and they're slightly wet when I take a bowl or cup etc.. out to use it. Don't know why this bothers me, but it DOES. deyb_Deb: Another one of my pet peeves is when a word can be spelled more than one way such as boogieman and bogeyman.... cancelled and canceled. I don't like making the choice as to which one to use. FunkyBiscuits82: One pet peeve of mine is when people pick kittens and puppies up by the scruff of their necks and are like, "it's okay, it's how their cat/dog mother does it!" or worse, "you're supposed to do it like the cat/dog mother does it!" Kittens and puppies develop scruff that is tough enough to support their weight, but once they have gained enough weight, even if they are still tiny, picking them up by the scruff and letting it bear their full weight might actually cause them pain. Or at the very least discomfort. Also, another little known reason why cats and dogs pick their kittens and pups up by the scruff is because THEY DON'T HAVE HANDS. Because they are NOT HUMANS. You're a human and do have hands. Pick the animals up like a human does! firesciguy14: I guess my pet peeve is when a woman hangs a bra and nylons over the shower curtain rail. I know that they're there to dry, but when they are dry, take them down! deyb_Deb: Another one of my many pet peeves or quirks is that I don't like to be the only person eating among other people in the same room. I'd rather take my food and eat it in a room all by myself. cloudygrey33: I mean... What if they're just trying to clarify the question to make sure they understood what you were asking? Is that bad too? deyb_Deb: I don't like hearing people call eye sleepies, "eye boogers".. I'd rather have sleepy matter than eye boogers firesciguy14: The one major pet peeve I have is that people taking food off my plate (especially without asking first) cloudygrey33: My pet peeve is sitting here looking at crap on the internet, and thinking--- I really need to make the journey across the room and go to bed. Then thinking the exact same thought an hour later while continuing to sit here and look at crap on the internet. | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
