Medical Marijuana? prairwarur: I've not been able to decide where to put these threads I'm beginning so they are sort of all over the place. I posted one article in religion, but it could be more suitable for the science topics. My hesitation was because some people are so close minded to Intelligent Design that they have demanded it not be discussed in the areas of science. One said perhaps it could be taught in a literature, poetic, philosophy, or religion setting, but never science. So, perhaps you can see how it remains a problem. Please read this shared article from Forbes about the research and progress made in Israel on Medical Marijuana. Shalom, prair ![]() ![]() https://www.forbes.com/sites/abbierosner/2019/03/04/new-medical-cannabis-research-from-israel-older-adults-dementia-and-dialysis/?sh=59329c2d3660 Saturnbat: I read it, Im glad they're doing that. Why shoudnt this stuff be talked about in the areas of science? prairwarur: Because it is such a controversial topic. Much like Intelligent Design, the things out of the norm are rejected by the intellects of this world. Alternative medicines, alternative thoughts, are just not accepted in the world of academia, no matter how it's classified; science, or medicine. So most just fall under the "Conspiracy Theory" status. Growing up we were taught that marijuana is bad, bad, stuff. There was a video that circulated called, "Reefer Madness". Total joke of a film. Not sure it is available today, but I'm not doing anything, so I can look through you tube videos to see what I can find. There was always this connection with organized crime, which may be said well, since it's the government that grew the pot and controlled every aspect of research, study, commerce, legal status, etc. There's your "organized crime" right there. lol And, this is important, since the FDA is not suppose to be able to control the things God put on this earth that are natural. Herbs, etc. Government control would be a different topic area. I have no problem posting this information anywhere. Even the "off-topic" thread would work. My intent is to get the message out and hopefully cause people to think, or rethink this present state of affairs we all face today. During WW2, help plants were used to make rope and encouraged to grow in the wild, or elsewhere, since it is basically a "weed" that propagates easily and spreads it seeds randomly. After the war the government stepped in and ripped up all the pot plants growing wild, and those cultivated by farmers for textile use, paper, rope, etc. Fires were set to burn it all down. ![]() Soon it was illegal to grow, possess, and use. Good ole big government. Always there to serve and take away our rights, "We The People, in order to find a better way...." I think most of us are just looking for a better way, a better union, united in heart. ![]() *Preamble to our Constitution. A refresher read of The Bill of Rights is also essential here to understand how over time government tried to take the place of "We the People", because they always think they are smarter than the general population, and they know what is better for us. These elites think they know more about us than we know ourselves. They keep parroting that we are a "democracy" but America is a Republic and that means we enjoy INDIVIDUAL rights, not majority rights. Back in the '90's during the Clinton years, I heard Killery Clinton say that she, and those like her, actually needed to think for the rest of us. More recently she labeled all Trump supporters a "basket full of deplorables". But, it's not Trump, it's not any political figure, it's about these elites thinking they are superior than common man. Their desire is to remove individual freedoms and rule us like a monarchy. People, get ready! There's a train coming! Shalom, Prair Angry Beaver: I hear the train a comin' It's rollin' 'round the bend, And I ain't seen the sunshine, Since, I don't know when, (Edited by Angry Beaver) (Post deleted by Account Closed ) (Post deleted by Account Closed ) (Post deleted by Account Closed ) Angry Beaver: What is medicinal cannabis? Medicinal cannabis is made from the cannabis sativa plant. The leaves and buds of this plant are also used to make the drug marijuana, which people use to get high. Medicinal cannabis is sometimes referred to as medical cannabis or medical marijuana. Cannabis has been shown to relieve pain, prevent or reduce vomiting, and it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This is because substances called cannabinoids act on the body’s endocannabinoid system. This is a communications system in the brain and body that influences mood, memory, sleep and appetite. The cannabis plant contains 80 to 100 cannabinoids. The one that gets people high is called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Other cannabinoids have been shown to relieve symptoms of disease. International research is looking at the therapeutic properties of some of the other cannabinoids. The side effects of medicinal cannabis are still being studied. They may include: difficulty concentrating dizziness drowsiness problems with balance problems with thinking and memory Medicinal cannabis is tightly regulated. Products approved for use in Australia include nabiximols and synthetic cannabinoids. These products are formulated so they have the greatest medical effect and the fewest possible side effects. In some countries, crude cannabis (raw cannabis plant material) and cannabis oil are used as therapies. These are both illegal in Australia. Who might benefit from medicinal cannabis? There hasn’t been enough research yet to prove the benefits of medicinal cannabis. But it is showing promise for some people with chronic or terminal illnesses who don’t get relief from other medicines, or to help control some of the side effects caused by other medicines. Researchers are investigating the use of medicinal cannabis for: epilepsy multiple sclerosis nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy non-cancer chronic pain palliative care prairwarur: Here is another plant that's been used for thousands of years, ayahuasca. The article I'm linking shares all the wonderful benefits, and nothing negative about it, that I read. I think it is long past time we turned back to nature and God's ways of healing the body and remaining healthy. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/ayahuasca prairwarur: Kaneh Bosm Some folks confuse marijuana and hemp. The ancient Hebrew for Hemp is, Kaneh Bosm. To this day Kaneh Bosm is being researched in Israel with profound results and benefits to humans. I think it's worth studying and I have used CBD oil many times and I know how beneficial it is.
