When is the best time to have children?

TENSHI9
TENSHI9: I will be turning 25 later this year and THIS question has caught my attention lately, when should I have children? I MEAN,,,,,I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO KICK A SOCCER BALL AND RUN WITH THEM, MOUNTAIN BIKING AND ALL THAT.... I do not have the intention to have any soon but...well I just don't know.

Actually, I didn't have my first one until I was almost 30.

brissy_girl86: i honestly dont think there is a right nor a wrong answer as to when you should have children. i had my DS when i was 21. i did what i wanted to do, i partied when i was 18, i gave up partying when i was 19 and concentrated on working as i enjoyed working and it was always night shift anyway i did but i prefered nights to work. i fell pregnant at 20 and as i said before i had him at 21. i am now 23 and i am loving life. there are moments i go through as i am a single parent where i wish i didnt have my son at such an early age(i knew nothing bout children until i had mine DS). there is so much more i want to accomplish and i figure i have time, i am still young. i want to study next year however i wil be putting that off as i do work full time and with working and having my son full time, its hard to fit in anything else.

if you want to travel before you have children go for it as it does make things easier. i am now waiting a few more years before i jump on the travel path as my son will be a tad bit older.

Nat911: When? I say, everyone is different. I suggest, go and get a job where you can travel, see some of the world as once you have a child, they are completely dependent on you in the early years, so you don't really get any you time unless you have a really great Network of friends and family around you, who would help out a lot but basically once the children arrive, they are there to stay forever. Enjoy your independance and do something for yourself for a few years, have fun, meet friends, set a goal for yourself and try and achieve it. These days women have children up to 45 years old and some even older. Plenty of time for kids. Realise that there is a LOT of work involved with children and responsibility. You want to be mentally ready so that you can be the best parent. Grow some more, learn some more, see some more and then pass on this knowledge to your children. Good luck with your decision.

crazygirl1986: I think it all depends on you and whats going on in your life. I had my first child at the age of 20, everything was fine with it just bein him. But i decided i wanted one more and i would be done. But ended up gettin pregnant with triplets. I am now 24 yrs old with a 4 yr old and three 2yr olds. Its hard wish i could have been more prepared for them but i wouldnt give them back for anything.
