However, this being said, the authorities will not be able to do much about it unless you have something concrete to offer them, such is the rule of law. Let them know of your concerns but do not hope for a quick solution because such is not always the case. If you wish to obtain custody of a child who you believe is at risk with their current custodian, the courts will require more then just your testimony. Evidence is essential. They will want proof that, not only is the child at risk where he/she is, but that you would, in fact be a better choice as guardian. Robot_Fox: Someone needs to put that b!7ch unto some knowledge. Syren83: you can certainly take her to court and fight for her. If the doctor feels like there is abuse here..based on the weight, development etc..then the doctor can take care of that by reporting it. However, if the baby is just meeting basic standards and the mother is showing even an oz of understanding and commitment to trying more for the baby there is nothing legal the doctors can do. I would try and take her to court. What happened with the baby girl?  pixie99: u must take the child out of that situation, for ur daughters sake as much as for the childs welfare, ur daughter wil spend time in prison ( and i asume u wldnt want that) for neglect, worse of all cld u live with urself if ur grandchild died and u knew u cld have saved her? Impossiblebeliever3: Well, if you think there is really a problem then you need to take this to the next step. Find out what is really going on. If you think that CPS is not seeing what you see then find proof of what you see. If you live with them this can be as easy as setting up a hidden camera to catch what is going on. However if you do not live with her you may need to take some things into account. For example, you said that the child is underweight. If all she is fed is what you described the child should be overweight. You can also take into account that the child may just be small, which happens quite often these days. I would just recommend you be sure before taking a child away from their mother.  OCD_OCD: Someone who would do that to a child does not deserve to have a child. If you can't take the baby, try to find someone who would like to adopt. Some people should not be parents. I'm sad to say it looks like your daughter is one of them. If you love your grandchild, intervene in any way possible.
