refurbwoodart: Stanley you say Democrats dont want to take your guns. Apparently your not familiar with guns. They want to ban all semi automatic guns. 90% of all guns sold in the US are semi automatic rifles and pistols. Basically they want only to allow lever action rifles, bolt action rifles, single shot shotguns and revolvers. In other words if you have a 1911 semi auto pistol from WW2 or Korea they want you to turn them over. Basically they want only to allow the firearms from 1920 or before or those based on those designs.

refurbwoodart: Regulations only limit legal gun owners stanley. That's why legal gun owners are against it. The regulations are already tough enough. You have to pass an FBI background check and wait five days until you can take your gun you already purched home after the FBI check. Then in most states you have only five days to register that gun. They also now require that on private purchase as well. The only gun sales they need to regulate more is illegal gun sales and illegal weapons that are pouring in from Canada and Mexico.

MJ59: Off topic but:

The Australian situation

Following the Port Arthur incident, Australia implemented the National Firearms Agreement (NFA).

New, uniform state gun laws banned rapid-fire guns from civilian ownership except under certain, restricted licences, and established a government buyback of semi-automatic and pump-action rifles and shotguns.

Another requirement was that all guns must be individually registered, with all gun sales tracked to record changes in ownership. Previously, registration varied by state and gun type. The laws reduced guns in Australia by about one-fifth, with more than 700,000 guns removed and destroyed.

There have been a number of studies published on the impact of the NFA on firearm-related deaths in Australia. According to a 2011 summary of the research by the Harvard Injury Control Research Centre, a number of studies suggested beneficial effects from the law changes, with a reduction in mass shootings, and a reduction in the rate of firearm-related deaths (both homicides and suicides) overall.

Researchers from the University of Sydney and Macquarie University in 2006, 2016 and 2018 looked at the number of mass killings before and after the NFA, and also whether the law changes affected the number of firearm-related deaths. They found that there was a drop in the rate of firearm deaths – particularly with suicides – but were cautious about attributing this to the NFA with the methods they used.

Their research also showed that while there had been 13 mass shootings (using the definition of five or more people killed) in the 18 years before the law changes, there had been none in the 22 years following (though there was one mass shooting involving seven members of one family at Margaret River in Western Australia in May 2018).

Modelling suggested that if shootings had continued at a similar rate as that prior to the NFA, then approximately 16 incidents would have been expected by February 2018.

stanleysteamah: To me if someone needs basically an assault rifle to hunt maybe they shouldn't be hunting in the first place, if u need 16 rounds,32 rounds means u can't hit what u aiming at lol

refurbwoodart: Well stanley pistols hold 16-18 rounds and most states have banned drum type clips and 30 rounds is standard clip in any single shot semi automatic weapon. The bump stock and rapid fire adapters were banned in every state after the Las Vegas shooting. 90% of hunters who hunt with a assault rifle are good shots and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a 30 round clip. I agree with the large clip ban but now they want to just make guns illegal by bans on any gun that holds more than 16 rounds. That's 96% of guns standards.

stanleysteamah: Is there any reason one needs more then 16 rounds

refurbwoodart: The reason so many people have assault rifles is because the gas release valve system has less than half the recoil and you can hit your target more accurately and if you have to fire a second round you have a quicker ability to aim limiting the game from getting away or having to trace blood spots and spread the range of your shooting scope.

refurbwoodart: Like I said stanley your not a firearm owner nor do you know about guns obviously. The reason like I explained they want guns that hold 16 rounds or more is because the least amount almost any gun holds is 16 unless it's a revolver. That's why they are trying to convince people oh we dont want to take guns away we only want to limit how many bullets it holds. Its democrat propaganda. Anybody who owns any gun knows you cant buy one that holds less bullets than that.

I dont really rely on my guns so much but I can say I have the knowledge also to create a very effective distraction. It's well instructed in the Art of War. Required reading for certain instructional positions and very well practiced within our military and by our intelligence agents.

Sir Loin: I hunt with a bolt action rifle. 5 shot magazine. Its only a little 223 but I've never needed more than a second shot even on the largest deer. If I see some dickhead hunting with an assault rifle, I move away because those guys can't hit their target, more likely to hit me
