I think therefore I am (Page 3) DIAMONDfire: but as opposed to intellectualism is aestheticism. the love of beauty. remember philosophy is the love of wisdom. not the answer. DIAMONDfire: i was reading about superstring theory that it was thought the 4-dimensional world was the upshot of the collapse of the 10-dimensional world. and the 4-dimensions are gravity, electromagnetism, soft and a hard radiation. but all we know and experience i don't think adds up to it is my intuition, life has a character of its own that is only known by experience and is unique. i don't know what the 10-dimensions are either but dreams would have to be in that. but it doesn't match up in my view. (Edited by DIAMONDfire) jeandeforge2020: Go with your intuition, always. It’s the basis of your belief systems and your own reality. No one person can have all the answers and No one person can be right. We are all unique beings with our own view points and opinions. DIAMONDfire: i don't know much about quantum theory just what i have read in an entry. but how do you take the scientific and make it philosophical? haroldg206: anger is a disruption of thinking clearly, disturbance to thought, one will turn anger into thoughtless action and will not be rational, anger can be environmental if it is not diverted from thought, if i control or even channel my anger to energy, i can think clearly and develop logical purpose. DIAMONDfire: for me anger is a high emotion, conversely anger can do so much damage which leads me to suggest it is drive related. but on that thought maybe you could look at it like a golfing tee-off. it takes precision but is to some degree violent. haroldg206: seems more like road rage drive related, and a tee off as a way of hitting an unintended target DIAMONDfire: medically definable phenomena is more complicated, there's some truth in what you say but logic is logic in any sense. haroldg206: i'd rather turn rage or anger into something positive, I recently started running and clarity and energy seem to take the place of anger DIAMONDfire: I've actually been in a position wherein physical exertion like running or gym work would actually tip my nerves over the edge. Heh, something went wrong. haroldg206: I actually had a bruised rib injury, so I had to start walking instead of running, and slowly I started to recover. Starting off slowly and gradually building up is a good way to go Kaiser Basileus: There are three primary divisions of philosophy because philosophy has three primary aims. They are; Truth Wisdom (universal answers), Practical Wisdom (individual solutions), and Academic Philosophy (social acceptance as proven by the attainment of credentials by means of compliance). axocanth: Philosophers can be divided into two kinds: those who believe philosophers can be divided into two kinds, and those who don't. Angry Beaver: Do tell? Thank god there's super intelligent blokes such as yourself to call them out! Thanks for your service.
