Entitlement LiptonCambell: What do you feel you are entitled to? Who do you think should provide it? Where should they get it?  spacecoaster: As an American, I'm entitled to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness - in addition to other rights guaranteed me by The Contitution. It's an amazing document. Too bad more Americans won't bother to read it. Ignorance is bliss. It's also a giant step toward tyranny. Freedom carries responsibilities. Who should be in charge of yours?  harlett anathema: clean air....clean drinking water, clean & healthy food....clean toilets... who should provide it.. every nation on this planet.... LiptonCambell: You think you have a right to food? and clean toilets? And the government should supply it for you? LiptonCambell: Farm? How far are you taking that? Should they distribute food, or just farm, then sell what they farmed to grocery stores? harlett anathema: I personally think that every CHILD attending school should be offered a healthy breakfast a mid morning snack, lunch and some form of a after school snack FOR FREE.... LiptonCambell: Yea, I think we have a similar program for anyone who signs up for it in elementary schools in Ontario.... Yea, I think this is it, but I'm not sure http://www.breakfastforlearning.ca/about-us/our-story/ If you notice, however, it appears to be charity(is it?)- not a government program- so it's based on voluntary actions, not actual government law harlett anathema: OMG.......some damn school some where here in the states.. actually snatched the lunch trays away from children after they sat down...excusing themselves for it..by saying their parents owed money to the schools lunch program....children called parents crying in shame & embarrassment....Parents on the other hand declared WTHELLLLLL i had no clue... instances like this is only partially why... i think ALL of the States PUBLIC SCHOOLS should have NO CHOICE BUT to offer children a communal BREAKFAST ....Mid morning snack, FREE LUNCHES and a after school snack... LiptonCambell: But, as i just pointed out yesterday, it is possible for these things to be successfully run by charities, at no cost to the tax payers.....I agree, these things are important- I just don't see why all tax payers everywhere should be forced to participate when it can be run just as well on a private budget, led by passionate volunteers harlett anathema: we force our children to attend school....we have no say in what they are taught for truth,we have no say in how they are socialized....AS a responsible Parent You need a say in some of all that.. and then......can you recall back a couple decades ago... when the afternoon talk shows were the shows ta watch.. several shows told the stories of parents who were starving their children to freakin death.. and sent them to school until the child was too weak from starvation...sometimes in those real life stories.. those parents singled out 1 of their children to suffer that fate...and worse inside in their homes.. matter of fact i briefly began to wonder last night.. about what kind of adults some of those children became after experiencing their parents choose then torture to death a brother or sister...of theirs... Your sending Your CHILD out into the VILLAGE without You... we should make sure every child is being properly cared for... Isn't that what Child Protective services is all about? Teachers are trained to watch out if they think a child is being abused, and are legally required to report it....we don't need additional programs if the program already exists... It seems like you believe all parents will neglect their kids, so no parents, and rather, all of society, should be responsible for them.....is this true? Or am i just reading too much into your comments? harlett anathema: that's passing the buck of responsibility in my BOOK...and is where the Bibles forewarning of TRUST NO MAN should be heed a 1000%.. didn't you yourself hear these and those teachers growing up talking on morning radio talk shows griping about you as a student and teenager.. etc etc etc.. teachers got away airing it was your child's fault and your teenagers and YOUR OWN fault for why they were failing to educate .. none of that FAILING to succeed at educating was their fault or had any bearing on their skills as a TEACHER...you owe them a secure paycheck they really don't need to EARN LiptonCambell: >>>that's passing the buck of responsibility in my BOOK... Parents should absolutely be responsible for the children- suggesting otherwise is passing the buck.... harlett anathema: i was referring ta..a reference that suggested relying on a system that has failed thousands..and harmed many by leaving them in harm way.. oh..un huh yes your reading into...when i suggested as do many suggest were raising a village... folks do start to neglect their children... not everyone is going too keep their arms wrapped their own children...guiding them,gifting them with quality time spent with... if the village isn't really doing all it can to take care of it's young and that young run into the hand full that are being care for.. they usually harm them... we talk else where ......where we have said,maybe not directly at one another.. but you catch my gist... wave...Yes..????.... that our welfare dollars are being miss spent are being ripped off...aren't going far enough..... aren't actually doing the job of ensuring welfare/well being.... managing the village through our mandatory public school system where we can be 1000% assured all children are fed properly are given enough food for a 24 hour time span...we cut down HUNGER in AMERICA..... eeee i know...i'm ______......&.....i trip..... but hey,i like stirring the pot of controversies.. ,it's great having all of those schooling options.. that well..sound like segregating options choices...don't they...
