If you had to move to another country for various reasons, which country would that be and why?

kat82
kat82: I am from Greece, but I moved in Germany recently because I had a job offer here. My top countries are Norway and New Zealand. Unfortunately, I don't have the chance to move there for the moment, but I really think that they have the highest quality of life in the world, great landscapes and really nice people (along with Canada, but I've never been there).

kat82: If it wasn't for the crisis and all the mess, I would definitely stay in the Mediterranean (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal)! Australia is really nice, but I think New Zealand is much better. If you ever have the chance to make a long trip, go there Paulo, it's a trip you will remember all your life!

kat82: Canada is a very organized country, life is easier, they have a good health care system and people are really cool. Plus there is no racism!

Hyenablood: sorry kat82, but there is racism in Canada, against the first nations that live here and against immigrants, not out in the open, or riots in the streets, but it is there.
Canada is a great place, I'm not putting it down, but we are not perfect ( thumbs up if you think Canada is perfect ! ) our health care is better than the USA, and our banks are in order and will not lose all of your money if there is a crisis.
As for me, if I had to flee to another country, me and my family would propably end up going to the USA, only because it is right there. Now would we stay for the long term, I don't know, maybe we talk about going to England or Norway, one of those people-friendly countries that had free health care, and benifits for being a human being.

kat82: Well I suppose racism exists everywhere then, but I believe in Canada it's not so intense. I have some Canadian friends and they told me things are really cool there. I really think, Hyena, that you live in a really nice country. I would never move from Canada to USA, it would be a huge mistake.

Hyenablood: thanks kat, but I'm talking like in a deadly emergency, like we gotta flee for our lives with only a handful of possessions. If we got attacked by another country ( as if, who'd wanna harm us ?) and if the long term lookout was very grimm, then we'd have to consider our future. That would never happen cuz Canada is just so large ! cities would be a target, but loads of people live outside of cities in rual places, like towns and such, it's hard to kill off all the ants if they are running around in diffrent directions.

Sash Ria: I have 2 places in the world I'd want to live, both complete opposites.
Italy being one, I love that country the culture the scenery the people,Italian people are some of the warmest and open people I've ever come across, I admire how the are so passionate about everything. Some of the most beautiful architecture in the world is there, and I could just get lost in the history...Ahh the food too, scrap everything else, I'd live there just for the food alone!
Second place would be New York, I stayed there for a while a couple of summers ago, I always admired that city but truely fell in love with it then. It's so diverse, on one street alone there is a clash of multiple cultures, art, architecture, originality is everywhere if you look for it, I know it isn't the freshest of places but for me that adds to the charm, it's raw and real.

aristotle9079: I'm from Vancouver and I think it's a great place, if you dont mind the rain! But in the summer time vancouver turns into shangri-la! It's gorgeous at that time as we sit right next to the Pacific Ocean.

Btw, kat i think nyc is best in the fall. The winter is just wayyyy too cold there. I think nyc is great to visit, but i couldnt live there with all of the people, traffic and pollution.

kat82: Aristotle everyone tells me that Vancouver is the best city in Canada and I plan to find out my self in the future. Well, I guess that NYC can be quite cold on X-mas, but for me it wouldn't be extremely cold since I managed to walk in Norway 7 hours per day at -20 hehe. I think the loveliest thing in NYC on X-mas is the decoration.

I think u might be right about nyc in the winter. nye with the ball drop would be really cool and the outdoor ice skating rink. it's probably a really joyful time there at that time

plasticjoker31: I've been to a few diffrent nations, if i was to live in another nations besides america i should say it would be somewhere where the nation cares for its people or a less corrupt goverment with less taxes and a national or social medical system. Thailand was nice, so was ukraine but i would like to see romania and scotland before a desision.
