If you had to move to another country for various reasons, which country would that be and why? (Page 2)
kittysmart_83: I(d like to go to Vancouver too. I'm told it' s a great place to live and I like its being between sea and mountains. I see it as a place where not onlly it must be pleasant to live but sounds like a place where things happen all the time. It's my dreamplace as it seems so far away form where I live now.
kat82: Deep_South I went only on the North Island unfortunately. Next time I will visit the South for sure! I think you should stay in NZ, you live in a Paradise. Concerning travelling now, you can go to many beautiful places. Latin America & Caribbean, Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Indonesia, South Africa... There's a big variety, but the only bad thing is that you have to spend more money on air tickets because New Zealand is far from the rest of the world. I consider it as an advantage, that's why this land is so special What about Pacific Islands? I find them extremely beautiful.
kat82: Kitty I think you would have good chances on moving in Canada. You speak both English and French so I think you have many choices in that country.
ohnonotthatguy: I have been allover my beautiful and great country of Canada, i have travel in the USA,south America and various countries in Europe but one place that draws my heart and soul and i keep going back year after year is Sao Miquel in the islands of the Azores, smack center in the Atlantic ocean (got my tickets booked and payed for departure on the 8th of July) its a well kept secret in the vacation destinations and i hope it stays that way, peace and quite.
GONZO_JOURNALISM: I live in Whistler B.C. and after my house hopefully sells in the not too distant future, I am seriously considering moving to the Cabo san lucas area of baja Mexico, at least for half the year or so. I have a couple friends there, the tax rates/living costs/property taxes etc...are much lower than the outrageous prices I pay here. To give you an idea, I had a convo the other day with a friend here in Wizzie that also owns a house, he commented that, " with the property tax I pay per year here, I could buy a new pickup truck every year" I am from Europe originally, and the coastal mountains/Van are beautiful, but there are quite a few things not exactly great for living in this area besides the tax issues. I won't get into all these things, suffice to say it makes me laugh to hear all the people on here wish they could live in Vancouver. The standard of living is def. going downhill here, versus the cost of living/definitive value per dollar compared to other parts of the world. QUESTION, anyone on here have any tips for integrating into a coastal surfing town near Cabo ? lol Peace
plasticjoker31: try el savador maybe try east of mexico city small town good transfer of currency and they have some 5-8 foot continues waves
kat82: Gonzo, Mexico is amazingly beautiful and cheap, I don't know details though about the specific place you want to move to. Before you move just check also the safety of the area, because the crime rates differ from place to place. You can find your own paradise in Latin America
Bennnnnnnnn: i would build my own floating island, and travel from place to place, stealing places off different countries as i floated from country to country, untill i ruled the world
shezzy: there are 2 places that i would wasnt to move to if i could first place would be back to ireland to monaghan my dad was from there and i used to go there every holiday fab place also would love a lodge r a cabin in a place called iddlewild in hemet california
sairaenterpriseinc: I have spent years in middle eastern countries, the most beautiful, safe and love it. Looking forward to go there again. Dubai UAE, Saudi Arabia, Doha Qatar, Sultanat of oman, nice countries, no tax, you keep whatever you earns. Uncle sam don't take any of your earning
larryhemeon: Friend lives in Brazil, been happy for the last 20 years there. I like the sunshine and warmer winds, (now live in NW Oregon), looking to go south, thinking Panama, maybe Ecuador. I enjoy the warmth of the spanish people Seems like a layed back way to continue life.. Cervasa
Japan or Australia if I had to move and be safe as most people would find it hard to follow you there.
kat82: Jink88 New Zealand is awesome! I tried the woofer farms and I loved it. Having your own farm there would be amazing!
Scarlet Mystique: I was born and raised in South Africa but moved to Portugal for safety reasons. I would love to go back to SA, but only for a holiday and visit Cape Town (which I never got an opportunity to see in the 19 years that I lived there). Portugal is beautiful and has great summers, but due to the crisis now, need to get out of here. I am most likely going to move to France, and maybe England is another option. Have been to Brazil and loved it. Madeira is beautiful too but couldn´t live there. If I could move somewhere - definitely USA...dream of mine
bosnia_al: Hyenablood: thanks kat, but I'm talking like in a deadly emergency, like we gotta flee for our lives with only a handful of possessions. If we got attacked by another country ( as if, who'd wanna harm us ?) and if the long term lookout was very grimm, then we'd have to consider our future. That would never happen cuz Canada is just so large ! cities would be a target, but loads of people live outside of cities in rual places, like towns and such, it's hard to kill off all the ants if they are running around in diffrent directions.
it's hard to kill off all the ants if they are running around in different directions - this is so true ....I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is comparing to Canada like a minor city (whole population of a country is about 4 mil.), we have had a horrible war - but still there are people survived ....
nevertheless - let me answer the subject ...... AUSTRALIA! they are so mixed up with all nations, social security is so good organized, they all live by the sea, it is warn, and central southern part even have Mediterranean clime - jumi!! .. although I have no chance to migrate there
