Box Cars daisiesnfld: Boxcars . Against the backdrop of the city Past where the buildings of towers are Rolling out into the countryside While riding in a boxcar . One can view the world's humanity Through the eyes and deeds of others Be they ordinary, actors, gamblers Or another beggar brother . Met with humbling opposition Obstacles too steep in paths to climb Are those temporarily escaping Hopes of a better life to find . Frowned upon for riding boxcars Track record, history of their own Traveling trains from plains to cities Labeled without job or home . The unemployed blue collared worker Due to drugs that made their fall Trying to make their comebacks Resignation etched on the faces of all . Within the open rusty sliding doors Are stories of despair, defeat of men Would we be so quick to judge them Were we to join the ranks therein . © DaisiesNfld | poems Chat Room Similar Conversations |
