Sometimes I suspect we're copies
Of just ourselves somewhere
In Heaven for safe keeping
The original awaits us there
.
Our bodies are but shells now
And while we have a soul
Tis not till we reach Heaven
That we're ever really whole
.
It’s from the ashes that we came
And to the dust that we return
It’s only for the short time here
That of Him we have to learn
.
Our lives are but a passing
We all must make our mark
Make no mistake, much is at stake
A difference in the soul and heart
.
It’s when the final judgment’s made
Before we're ever cast
Away from Him forever
Or where our lives will last
.
The heart beats but just a short while
But the soul lives on and on
The original lasts forever
While the copy is soon gone
