Front Lawn Children daisiesnfld: Front Lawn Children . Play little children on the grass And worry not about the lawn For way too soon youth will pass The grass is here when you're gone . Build your castles in the sand That I'd reserved for other things For I'd much rather enjoy fantasy Than that which planting ever brings . Make the joyful sound of laughter So that it may thrill my heart And let me watch as you hop skotch So that I might be a part . Of all the happy, joyful days Childhood summer time can be To keep a precious picture Of carefree children in memory . Sing all your little nursery rhymes At the very top of your voice And I'll sit down and take the time To just listen and rejoice . For you're yet children growing up God's greatest gift on my front lawn To watch you play and hear you sing He's planted you where you belong . © DaisiesNfld WineNSarcasm: I like this Daisies ! A vivid picture of "what used to be". I don't see kids outside playing hopscotch any more; or playing tag; or cowboys and indians, etc...One of my greatest joys was hearing children from afar playing outside. I can't believe this is a "thing of the past" now | poems Chat Room Similar Conversations |
