Here's your link; Secondly- why are we starting a discussion of the history of slavery with Islamics? I gotta admit, I didn't watch the video, but it seems odd that you wish to discuss the historical context of something by starting thousands of years after it began.... LiptonCambell: I've began watching the video, and I gotta admit- its provocative. I personally hold the belief that slavery is not the fault or creation of any one race or creed- and while this video concedes that, it also seems to blame Arabs and Islamics for the slave trade... Barbara the Jew: you think it is blaming the arabs for it? we know that slavery started before the arabs as a people ever existed. I believe is another part of history slavery i was not aware of LiptonCambell: I don't think that people aren't aware of it- every culture had or continues to have taken part in the slave trade. It just seems to me that the video is singling them out- its not that astounding to imagine Arabs are involved in the slave trade, historically or otherwise... Barbara the Jew: well in all honestly slavery still continues to this day. The sex trade is a modern form of slavery. As for the arabs what sets them apart is that this type of slavery in my opinion seems to be more brutal. removing of male genitals and sex slave is dispicable in my book. Do not misunderstand me all forms of slavery are evil but this particular one is horrific!  Comrade_: The topic heading followed by the video, don't match and I'd not comment on this topic further since it seems to carry its own agenda to it. All forms of slavery are despicable from that done in the past by the Jews/Europeans/Arabs/Africans/Amerindian etc. The only good thing is that we've perhaps moved on slightly from that type of slavery, though it exist at least it is condemned. I thought if they did n,t kill you they said you must be one of us and do what we do or we will kill you, like The Man Call Horse. Mostly they just killed other tribes. I grew up in Puerto Rico, where blacks and white intermarry. and being black or white is not an issue. As for middle georgia, where I live, slavery is considered horrific and an embaresment in the US history. I dont live or never have been in Mississippi, so I just am not sure the mentality there and the flag could just be out of southern pride. But like i said i dont know. Barbara the Jew: As for as Native americans the caribs did not keep slaves, prisenors were eatean, the caribs where canibals. BUT they were not brutalized and raped lol. The nieghbour was a baker and I was a slave...........that simple lol.
Mask Of Dionysus: "Slavery" is a very wide-ranging topic. In the New World, North America, it got ugly quite quickly. At other times, it was a simple Class distinction. 'Slave' was not something you called another. They were the property of the person they worked for. Freedom existed for them, but very limited. Barbara the Jew: Yes slavery is a wide topic that most ancient cultures practiced unfortunately this cruel practice continues today. duncan124: Prime Minister Spencer Perceval was killed two hundred years ago.
