the real slim DEEPy: the earliest books of the bible, dating back to ancient egypt, told of slavery. slavery is horrid, but it, at the very least, has good job security. in this economy, it seems like it could have its perks

i feel that if slaves had more human rights, slavery would not be such a blemish on our past.however, slavery is a blemish on the history of virtually every culture. it was the subjugation of an entire people group that was wrong, the beatings, the rape, the "one drop rule" that made the slave/master rape babies "black" and, thus slaves. the generational slavery was unacceptable. the original africian slaves saw better living conditions in colonial america than they did as afrcian war prisoners/slaves, and were purchased legally due to a lack of kidnapping deterrents in africia at the time.

the children of the original slaves should have been born free, and that they were not- that is the true travesty.

the real slim DEEPy: i donnt say it wasnt wrong, i just said that wasnt the worst part of it, and that it was legal at the time. most every cultre throughout story has kept slaves, they just tended to treat them better in some cultures than others, and we didnt treat ours right, so that made it so much worse.

I took your suggestion to check the definition of slave;

a person who is the property of and wholly subject to another; a bond servant.

Having a shitty paying job doesn't match that definition.
