lavendar_star: Pakistan is in Asia, secondly they are British born and brought up in the UK and women are seen as sexual object in Western society yes I do mean Western Europe but also other anglo countries like the States, Australia etc

The issue with this is the cultural attitude of their culture some may have towards women and combined with how women are seen as sexual objects by men from all races and cultures in general.

OCD_OCD: I'm not making excuses for anyone, I'm trying to explain the difference.

lavendar_star: Not all men see women that way of course that would be sexists but I have personally know women who have been raped and read books on the issues and documentaries etc.

OCD_OCD: While women are viewed, and I mean "viewed", as sexual objects in the U.S., most men in the U.S. are raised to understand that it is unlawful, immoral and disgusting to prey upon a woman just because you want sex. That's not ALL men, because there are predators here just like there are there.

The point was that it is a growing cultural issue wherein it has apparently been either accepted, or overlooked, in the Pakistani community where they do not view women as anything other than pieces of meat.

OCD_OCD: Being able to say something that is based in fact is not racist. It's factual. To say that the drug of choice of poor white trash is meth sounds crappy, but it's true. Not true of 100%, but the truth cannot be overlooked.

By saying that the drug of choice of poor black kids is crack isn't meant to be racist, it's meant that crack is more prevalent among poor black kids just as meth is the drug of choice for poor white kids. Are all crack users black? Of course not. Are all meth users white? Of course not.

But closing our eyes to the obvious and blaming our weakness on someone else is wrong also.

The video that I just watched is VERY on point in this respect. People are afraid to call it what it is. It's not racially motived. It's a fact that these Pakistani men are preying on young girls (predominately white) because they know they will face greater punishment and anger in their own communities if they attempt to do the same thing with girls within their culture.

The only way for it to stop is for the Pakistani community to stand up and berate these people as being the predatory animals that they are, not to blame it on the parenting skills of the girls.

Yes OCD, I get your point very true and that's why Im happy you was able to watch the documentary, in that part of England the its quite segregated and I think some in the Pakistani community do have their head stuck in the sand and refuse to deal with the issue and re educate this young men to have respect for all women. I think the cultural sensitive has to be dealt with.

OCD_OCD: They do need to be taught, but they also need to learn that there is punishment. Serious punishment.

OCD_OCD: If they know it is wrong to do it to certain girls, then they are intelligent enough to know that it shouldn't be done to ANY girl, regardless of whether they share their ethnicity or religion.

lavendar_star: Well in the UK as I posted already conviction rates for rape is quite low and many women don't report it, jurors who represent all of society still blame the victim i.e. how she dresses and was she drunk etc. I think there needs to be a minimum sentence for rape at least ten years currently its about 3 years i know shocking, that's one thing I agree with dave we have soft sentences in the UK.

err_HELLO: Hmmm Rochdale isnt far from me, n its a big asian community, the trouble is they have no interest in intergrating with us, they think we re scum.... theres a park just down the road from me n you darent go on there at night if your not from pakistan. Not only that ive read about one woman whos daughter is being groomed by these men n the police cant do anything about it.! why would gangs of grown men be hanging around in parks at night??
N before anyone starts calling me racist n saying theyre not all like that....no they dont all do it, but if it was the other way around im sure they d all be protesting about it. Having said that i think the main problem here is that type of crime or other violent crimes hold little or no punishment, regardless of race!

I will say that based on what I've just seen, that the U.S. takes sex crimes much more seriously than it appears they do in the UK. And sex crimes involving young children is something that will get you a big heavy sentence. And once you are in prison, some of them aren't going to find life easy there because kiddie diddlers are universally hated in prison.

lavendar_star: Yes I agree I applaud the US with the heavy sentence, even for sex crimes involving children its the same 3 years its shameful and not much is being done despite reports showing the prevalence of sex crimes in the UK I cant defend my nation for the lack of a harsh sentences for these types of crimes.

OCD_OCD: There are good and bad things here with regard to our Sex Offender Registry, but on the whole, it is a good thing.

I do not believe that when two people who have consensual underage sex, the male is sometimes made to register as a sex offender FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. But for true sex offenders, yes.

Young girls who have some apparent young guy chat to them and really its some sicko old guy must be a danger teens face which we didnt have to, scary times.
