To be the only super power is not easy ! You need to spend continuously on new weapon systems so that you are always at least 20 to 30 years ahead of every other countries !  chronology: 'The U.S. is the richest country in the world'. Where have you been? America long since lost that title, along with the highest standard of living. Am not dissing the U.S. but it has been falling behind other nations for the last 30 years. The first big loss of wealth was the so called 'Dot Com' crash. Since then other Wall Street dives have leaked America's wealth, the so called 'Bank Crash' a year ago wiped out Trillions from U.S. wealth.
