FogofWar: Because they are not Islamic.

This quote was taken from the late Ayatollah Khomeini. We can see that this view was already in place in Iran; such is an act of policy towards Israel.


What does this translate to in English?

Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from).[1]

It is important to understand the words used in this quote. Note that nowhere is the word Israel used. Also note his choice of words "regime" over nation, sovereign, or government. Why? Simple: Iran does not acknowledge the existence of the nation of Israel. To Iran, it is a "regime occupying Jerusalem", which is to them, Arab land.

What do Arabs think of Israel?

XFixYourBrainX: Legally in the world that is Jewish land. The Arabs see in their own eyes its their land, because Muhammad ascended into heaven at the dome of the rock located in Jerusalem. The Arabs are truly angry that their dome of the rock is in foreign opposite religious hands. So history shows they will try to take the city over again, and it will be an epic battle.

FogofWar: It is not. The Dome of the Rock is in Palestinian land; not Israeli land. Israel gave it to the Arabs; even though it was originally the sight of the holiest land in Jewish faith; the Temple; thousands of years before Mohammed even lived.

FogofWar: I'd say that's pretty decent of Israel right there.

FogofWar: The Dome of the Rock is not in Israeli hands. The Dome of the Rock lies in a section of Jerusalem that is Palestinian territory. Israel gave it to Palestine to make them happy; despite the religious significance of that land to the Jews that dates back thousands of years prior to Islam's existence.

XFixYourBrainX: If they still want more land or even the eradication of Israel, it just makes Islam look childish.

Often we are all to willing to say "they" are this or "they" will act a certain way. Yes corruption exists, as it does in most groups that have control. People have an incredible ability to rise to what is expected of them.
Let's expect the best from people, look for the good in people and celebrate our diverse cultures.
If we choose to see the best in others, see others as human beings first and not fall for the "Us vs Them" mentality, surely it will provide better results than always being the ones to point fingers and lay blame.
