Forcing something down anybody's throat gets rid of the beauty of religion. Humans have a tendency to want to assert freedom. The moment you impose regulations limiting their freedom is the moment they rebel either silently or vocally. The silent rebellion is the worst case. These individuals pretend to fathom and accept religion, but truly despise it. This is all due to force. It's human nature. But what i find equally disgusting and disappointing are individuals living in a country that endorses freedom of religion wanting to bring an end to it. Great, go off and create your own island nation where religion doesn't exist. Opinions like yours wont change the constitution. Countries who hold religion as a main facet in political institutions don't have the same ideals as we do in the West. Here, we endorse freedom of religion and expression. We don't limit it. This is why the West is looked highly upon everywhere else in the world. Without this, you are no different. Mankind will always have conflict. I believe our lord has blessed us with something different than animals (like Lavender pointed out), we have been blessed with rational and critical thinking, and empathy. (by not responding to his offensive, non contributive comments) Back on topic: both forcing of religion, or forcing of non-religion are both acts of violence (perhaps not phisical, but emotional/psychological/spiritual violence) as the act of forcing anything on someone against their will, is what constitutes te violence. That being said, the moral guidelines that define a society normally have a religoius origin, and in many cases do have a positive impact on that society, especially in westerized cultures, where morality is enhanced by the freedom of religion. It also benefits faith itself, as choosing a faith becomes a voluntary act that comes from within, instead of an imposed, external constraint forced upon the individual by the society that surrounds them. B, if you get the moral guidelines from your so called bible it is just fake and does not serve for the good of human being who is living with daily changing world with science .
