Palestinians in efforts to be recognized as a state. (Page 2)

I'd like to know how actual 'displaced Palestinians' from 1948 who if they were 18 at the time who are now 81, can provide documentation that a specific piece of land is theirs? Are they going to say that from that rock to that rock over there to that rock over there to that rock over there, are the four corners to their property? Give me a break. How about there decedents? How are they supposed to claim Israeli land? How are they going to prove that their family was actually even in Israel? What about if there is a shopping mall on the land "they say" is on their family plot? Tear down the mall? Right of return is impossible for a number of reasons and it is just not going to happen.

IsraeliOr: Israelis, at least the big majority of us, would agree to get to a final situation where there is Israel and Palestine (67' lines with land swaps that keeps our big cities), and PEACE.
However, the majority of palestinians are fanatic islamistics, that even if we get to such situations, they will just try to get more and more of our land.
the fact is we would be able to live with it, they won't. so why should we weaken ourself and give them valuable territories which they can attack us from?

you tell me: how fanatic it is that islamistic terrorists explode themselves in our cities again? if we dont have the separation wall and ways to defend ourselves, we will be helpless.
but they just ignore and dissrespect our need of secure borders, because they dont care - they want the opposite.

Anna2you: Israel needs to stop expansion. Secure borders are a must however continuous building of new settlements on Palestinian territory does nothing as far as security goes. Yes, the Palestinians have resorted to terrorism and are fanatical in their belief that all Palestine belongs to them. As far as negotiations go...well i am trying to imagine negotiating with people who have killed my family members...it would be hard. I believe that outside intervention maybe the only way to settle this conflict. Yes, Palestinians are not going to settle for the current borders...and are Israelis willing to give up the expanded territory? Every Palestinian person i spoke to on the internet wants all of Palestine back eventually...i am just hoping that they are not the accurate representation of the whole population. But are the majority of Israelis really willing to give up all the settlements build on the Palestinian territories? Also, the condition the Palestinians are living under right now are inhumane. This has to stop somehow. Yet i doubt that either side is willing to negotiate fairly without outside intervention.

Anna,

Israel proved in 2005 that they were serious about peace and removed 21 settlements from Gaza. Just because they are building homes not in Israel proper does not mean they will not also remove settlements from these areas to secure peace. But until the Palestinians sit down and seriously talk peace, first by acknowledge Israels right to exist, why put people out of work building these settlements? They employ thousands of Palestinians.

Everyone knows, and I mean everyone, Israel, the Palestinians, and the rest of the world, knows Israel must and will remove settlements or swap land for them. The Palestinians know this and just won't accept Israels right to exist. This is the main issue at this point in time. There was a civil war in 2007 between the PA and Hamas because Hamas refused to negotiate for any reason and reaffirmed their Charter to destroy Israel and that no other option would be acceptable. At least the PA was talking with Israel.

Anna2you: well...if this is true David...then Qartet meeting should go well....the only condition the Palestinians are asking for is that any settlement building should stop now...and they are willing to start negotiations. Yet i hear that Israeli does not want to negotiate as long as the Palestinians put forward any conditions. Well, i guess we have to wait and see.

Israel had stopped building for over 10 months and guess what? The Palestinians did not come to the table. This 'condition' was met once before and nada happened.

Anna2you: what a bunch of......The Israel openly refused to stop building new settlements yesterday....so the Quarted was not able to do absolutley nothing. Well i am trying to not take sides here...but how can those people want to negotiate when everyday they watch their land being taken. This is nonsense...i think now the picture is a bit more obvious.

Like i said, Israel stopped building for over 10 months and the PA did not sit down to negotiate. So Israel should once again stop building...for what reason? The PA will only come up with another reason not to negotiate.

You see, unless you do some honest research Anna, you will not know the truth.

Here is why the PA will not sit down and negotiate with Israel. Hamas.

Do you recall what happened between 2005 and 2007 in Gaza? Israel voluntarily removed 21 settlements from Gaza to move the peace process forward according to the Oslo Accords which the PA and Israel signed. Then civil war broke out between Hamas and the PA. Why was that? Because the PA wanted to negotiate and Hamas absolutely will not negotiate, for any reason with Israel.

Now that the PA and Hamas have made up, do you or anyone really believe that the PA will negotiate on anything while Hamas is a part of the PA? Do you? Really?

Now I really don't you to believe what I just wrote. Do your own 'honest' research and it will verify what I just said.

Anna2you: and yes I read all about Gaza but this was not what we are talking about...we are talking about now. and right now Israel is refusing to stop building. If somebody was building in your back yard illegally would you want to have peaceful negotiations with them. Hamas is not all people...i wish you were not try8ing to patronize me here.

Hey, I can say anything I want. You can take it as a friendly suggestion or not. I know exactly how some Palestinians feel about Hamas, some love them and some hate them. The important part is...they have the guns and are heavily HEAVILY supported by Iran. Will the PA go up against them? Nope. That...is the problem. Stopping the building will do nothing to move the peace process forward. Absolutely...nothing. It was tried before and nothing came of it.

It's not the Israeli's causing your disparaging feelings. It's the PA and Hamas. Israel has a track record of exchanging land for peace. It recently exchanged 1000 convicted Palestinians, some who were convicted of murder for the release of one Israeli. It evacuated 21 settlement blocks in Gaza. If peace is what the PA and Hamas wanted, Israel would exchange West Bank settlements for peace as it did in Gaza. You don't think so? Then you are under the wrong impression of what's going on there.

I have been consistent with my thoughts and suggestions. Words and deeds mean something. All that the PA and Hamas have to say, notice the words...'have to say'...

All they, the PA and Hamas have to say is that they accept Israel has the right to exist.

That's it...5 words.

The PA and Hamas don't even have to decide what they think the borders should be...All that has to be said by the PA and Hamas...Israel has the right to exist.

Simple as that.
