hellbhoy: If I remember correctly the biggest contributor to the American drug cartels is actually the American government itself for manipulation of ridding or installation of puppet presidencies for the countries minerals,coal,oil or whatever and also so they can keep these poor countries in debt constantly having to pay the USA in loans borrowed.So yes to a point,they could be involved eliminating any upcoming cartel that does not play ball or has any other idea the US does not like or another government department involved somehow keeping an undercover agents cover safe.Most of all you don't know what lengths your government will go in another country covertly so as to throw a curve ball.

OCD_OCD: Illegal and legal aliens' income from the U.S. is upward of 50% of the entire Mexican economy. Mexico's politics, both national and local are well known for being corrupt. If the U.S. wanted to take over Mexico, it wouldn't be difficult. We would rather they were stable and could keep their citizens employed there.

The US and US companies spends lots of money there under NAFTA to do just that. The reason the csrtels have the power they do is because all of our drugged up idiots give them a market.
