Topic: Politics  lavendar_star: The UK sends aid to Pakistan also and in one way I can understand why the UK and the US sends aid to Pakistan as it is a third world country (despite it having money to make nuclear weapons) and it has a lot of poor people and we are good nations in trying to help. But at the same time I do think before Pakistan gets any aid our governments should make sure that Pakistan is really helping the poor people with the aid and that they are tackling terrorism if they are not then aid should stop. The other reason that we send Pakistan money is because they have the Bomb. I mean India is a far bigger country but Pakistan seems to be more aggressive. They had a case there recently where a guy faked a Christian girl had blasphemed and ripped the koran but he did it, thankfully they found it out but that country does seem to be go like Iran and Saudi Arabia. Also they kicked out aid workers from there also (because of the Bin laden thing) so they cant be too concerned and about their poor citizens. It amazes me why we bother caring and sending aid to countries who are ruled by religious zealots or mad tyrants or brutal tribal leaders, but we do. I'm not sure whether it's doing any good, though. If we send money, the money is taken and used by the tyrants. If we send food and medicines, it's kept by the military. I don't know the answer and it is very depressing, isn't it? lavendar_star: Yes it is very depressing, I mean maybe we need to send a advisor of some sort to watch and take account on where the money is going and no matter what they say if they dont allow us to do that then we wont send the aid. It is difficult because people in my country and I'm sure in the States are becoming resentful and its understandable but when you see your fellow humans suffering its decent being a rich country to help a less fortunate one.
