Romney's Flip-Flops (Page 2)

OCD_OCD: No. Go look up the name of the last man who was chairman of the Ways and Means committee. I'm not kidding. I won't even say his name.

Coffrey: Well outside of that whole scandal thing, he's done some good. The only problem is, he was dumb enough to do things the illegal way when there have been written in ways to do it legally. There are much worse people in congress right now than him.

OCD_OCD: So you think he should be given a pass. LOL

I don't think so. Dirty is dirty.

Coffrey: No, I don't. He broke the rules, he should be punished like everyone else. What I'm saying is that there are other rules which can incorporate things just like this and they go unpunished.

OCD_OCD: I suppose you can say that all of them have done "some" good, but "some" good isn't enough if they're dirty. Dirty wipes out all of the good as far as I'm concerned, especially when they use the power of their office to do their dirty.

Sarcastic Dots: It's no secret that Romney, like McCain before him, was on the moderate side of the Republicans prior to becoming a presidential nominee; now he spends his days flip-flopping to placate the conservatives within his party. I mean, whether or not moving towards conservatism is advisable is another matter, since he's now, rather ironically, alienating moderates-- maybe he thinks it's worth it. Maybe it is. We'll find out.

Derrick31: If OCD_OCD spent as much time doing constructive as they did posting on these forums all of the world's problems would be solved in about 15 minutes. I don't care what someone's political affiliation is, but for fuck's sake go build a model airplane or something...

Coffrey: Kattie, flip-flopping isn't when someone claims a position than secretly works against it, that's dishonesty, something I think Obama has more than Romney. Flip-flopping is where you publicly tout a position, then later (usually soon) tout the opposite position and pretend that was your opinion all along. THAT is Romney.

Coffrey
Coffrey: Well there you go, with Obama, of course he flip-flops, he's a goddamn politician. But most of his flip-flops are deep in the weeds, with numbers and shit. Romney's flip-flops are on basic shit, like the most recent one, he said that the embassy's message, in Egypt which was about tolerance towards religions in the midst of a religious-based assault, was "sympathizing with those who waged the attack". Now he says it was the right thing, we have to be sensitive to religious differences.

Or when he said he agreed with some parts of "Obamacare" (which ironically are only the parts that are active now) with emphasis on pre-existing conditions, then just a few hours later said he wouldn't enforce the rule that insurance plans had to cover pre-existing conditions. I mean, this is just basic shit and I'm only looking at just past week.

Coffrey
Coffrey: Actually, that's not the case because Romney is against the mandate .If it was a State-run program, he would be mandating States to participate, but he was very clear on mandates. If the government paid insurance for pre-existing conditions (which is a term made up by private insurance companies), that would be called a "public option" or I'll even give you this term a "government option", which is something I support by the way. But the provision is private insurance can't prohibit based on their own made up term "pre existing conditions", thus would be paid for by private insurance. Now please complain about poor ol' private insurance not being able to discriminate against people

Mitt Romney is a joke and would make America the laughing stock of the world.

davidk14: .

I know that Obama is wrong and do not want him and his friends in the White House. I also want to see Pelosi, Reid, and the rest gone as well. And I hope, David Axelrod finds a new job working in the San Francisco sewers where he is accustom to the stench he spews.
