Marijuana Legalized Dennae: Washington approves marijuana legalization. The state of Washington approved the legalization of marijuana at the polls on Tuesday. Known as Initiative 502, the measure legalizes marijuana production, possession and distribution for individuals 21 and older and includes a stipulation that motorists cannot have more than 5 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood in their system. Colorado also approved a marijuana legalization measure Tuesday. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/11/07/washington-approves-marijuana-legalization/ Slippery slope or about time? AussieOi: Ha I can see massive flip flops politically from this. Watch the disability drawing rate in those two states go higher, the employment rate drop and watch the mad bastards trying to cultivate a crop in the cold and the dry. Should be fun to see what the fall out is. Dennae:
I wonder who will be the first that registers a business for the sole purpose of marijuana growing, processing and distribution. and where can I buy shares Vєritαs: As long as the same guidelines apply, I can't see it being any different that the production, possession and distribution of alcohol. AND it takes the black market (and associated crimes) out of the game. Of course the black market has plenty of other drugs to choose from. davidk14: . They should have legalized all drugs including prescription drugs for over the counter, no age limit for purchase. . . AussieOi: Oh never fear they'll be all over taxing it, regulating the production and the state will triumph over the dope fiends. With $$$$ coming in droves. A_Muse_Mint101: You wouldn't grow it in the outdoors in those climates, Oi. Ideally, one would convert the crop land into hydroponic bays or cheaper with rows of greenhouses. The beauty of hydroponic farming, is you can do it in multilevel buildings and/or tiered underground. Dreamster: It's time to control it by taxation. Undercut the middle person, and make the state the regulator, and the profiteer. I've argued for legalization for 15 years. It never made sense to put something like that underground, that's pervasive anyways if people want it. Let government take the profits, and remediate the harmful effects through the income generation. A_Muse_Mint101: We let the government make a little money on it, too -- that's what we tax it for; we're not socialists, tho. Dreamster: Hmmm ... if it's the US government. Sure, they need every cent they can get right now. If it's the Canadian government. No way. Give the money back to the people. Call the marijuana tax an intellectual communism, so to speak. Wealth redistribution from the stupid to the smart. Dennae: Oooo there's an idea. A marijuana tax scholarship for people that can't afford College. Millions more people edumacated .. Yah!! Bona Fide_Diva001: You're the simple stupid idiot. You actually think you need a drug? You have serious issues. | Politics Chat Room 94 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
