Hillary to resign as Secretary of State

OCD_OCD
OCD_OCD: I think that Hillary was doing her best, based on the constraints of the Administration, to do her job as Secretary of State. In many ways she has succeeded, but I believe she was held back and would have been more open if she were allowed to be.

She is a strong woman and will be a force to be reckoned with. I also believe that the time she has spent as Secretary of State has helped her grow in understanding of the delicacy and balance of power between countries and their varied people.

I would prefer that Hillary stay on as SOS because I'm not excited about any of the names being thrown out there. Someone even said that Obama should choose McCain....LOL. No. No. No.

OCD_OCD: I hope not. I think she will be, though. I think things might have been different if Hillary had had the ability to send in the rescuers. I think she would have done it. I really do.

I hope she writes a book about her tenure as SOS. LOL

lavendar_star: But I never saw or heard of that guy until recently I think she handled her own when it came to international affairs. Yes that Libya killing was a right mess defo failings there, if it was the UK I dont think our leader would resign but teh President should shoulder some of the blame too many unknowns in what happened there.

It would be super cool if you had Hilary as Democrat candidate and Rice for the Republicans for the presidential race in 2016 but I very very much doubt that.

OCD_OCD: I don't think Hillary is resigning over the Libya debacle. I think Hillary and Obama don't see eye to eye (and never have) and Hillary is too strong a woman to have someone treat her like a puppet.

Ooooh, I'd still vote for Condi Rice. She gave a speech where she was talking about growing up poor in Mississippi and I swear, I was awestruck. Well, even more awestruck, because I have always thought she is super special and is so dedicated.

Sarcastic Dots: " I think it should have been Obama de one to step down, after all he is and was the Comander and Chief"

If a head of state stepped down every time I mistake was made, they wouldn't last more than a week -- if not a day. These positions are delegated out for a reason, and while I like Hillary Clinton, her head is firmly on the chopping block. No, we may not like it; No, it may not be fair, but what's the point of delegation if a boss --commander in chief-- can't hold them accountable for the department they directly run?

Sarcastic Dots: Doesn't matter. People who realistically think organisations cut from above --private or public-- must be unaware of the shrewdness of survival. It's well know that, especially in politics, giving a rival a powerful position isn't just a way to placate them, but to ensure that when and if they fail, they'll no longer be a threat to a higher position. I'm not saying Hillary would challenge Obama, but I will say that they both have extremely strong personalities.. In that case, it's survival of the fittest.

OCD_OCD: Wow. LOL

I am wondering how and why the President of the US never seems to know what's going on, even when he's apparently there, and why any decisions or actions that come out of his administration have nothing to do with him.

He is supposed to be the man in charge. Not the man in charge of excuses and laying of blame on others.

OCD_OCD: Hillary is a bigger man than him because she can't stomach what happened and she is not going to make excuses for him any longer. Hillary hasn't testified. Yet. I have a feeling he doesn't want her to testify before Congress because I have a feeling she will not carry his water any longer.

davesdatahut: No way Hillary resigns over Bengazi, unless she does it totally of her own free will, which is not likely. Bill Clinton gave Obama too much help in the election for him to let Obama allow Hillary to take any falls. As bad a foreign policy blunder as Bengazi was, no one of major prominence will resign because this will fade out of the public's and media's radar screen as the fiscal cliff story, and now the Patraeus stories take center stage.
Will Hillary run in 2016? Doubt it. She'll be getting older and will be upstaged by younger candidates, although I can't say who that might be yet. I would not rule Elizabeth Warren out of the picture as a high-octane woman on the Dem side, although she is no youngster either.

PigCatcher: It is really irritating to read dumb statements.

Seriously, you make statements like you are part of the inner circle. Got news for you......you're not...and you never will be. You really have no idea what you are talking about.

As for someone not important.....ooops....the same person........sorry, my bad............calling Joe Biden an ineffectual buffoon is really ignorant on this person's part. But then again, just what can one expect from said person?

Just how effective do you want a VP to be? He makes no policy.

How exactly do you know just how much input he's had in this administration? Did you attend any of the meetings? Were you in the Oval office during their discussions?

mmmmmmmmmm.......thought not.

The man is the Vice President of the United States of America.......and maybe you can tell us just exactly who you are and what your accomplishments have been in your life other than writing long winded posts on wire all day long?

PS: my guess on this is that it has very little if anything to do with Libya. I'm thinking that she wants to run for president on 2016 and she wants to get a head start on things.

I hope that I'm right and I hope that she wins.

Just want to know who it is I am conversing with, that's all.

At any rate, please save your answer for tomorrow. It's off to sleep for me now. Some people actually do work for a living you know.

Goodnight, and see ya soon, I'm sure.
