I think it's utterly unacceptable (I also think life in prison is a worse punishment, but at least it keeps the government out of the business of homicide). If murder is wrong, then don't compound it with another killing. (And it's an utterly illogical argument to say the punishment fits the crime because we don't do the same thing for any other crime. If we did, then the punishment for raping someone would be to get raped....and then you walk free. Also unacceptable.) I am no fan of abortion either, but I can accept it because there are cases whether a woman should not have a child and should not be forced to carry it to term. A woman should have the right to decide whether to have a child, regardless of what anyone thinks about whether she was a fool to get pregnant in the first place. It's no one else's business. Certainly not the government's.
