Not every religion can boast ~ 45% open sympathy or support (who knows the true fraction) for terrorist attacks among members. Other polls conducted by reputed pollsters like Ipsos and Pew Research bear on most of these tenets. There are therefore reasons for those who believe in freedom, the rule of law, the rights of women, homosexuals, Jews and non-Muslims as a whole to oppose not just the beliefs (which have no power in themselves) but the vehicle which harbours them. In the west all those things are serious crimes. In Islamic nations they are accepted norms. Who did it first is irrelevant. You have to be brain dead to not see a serious problem with the Islamic abuse of women, children and minorities. You cannot spin it as "normal" because someone else did it to 500 years ago....
