ghostgeek: Someone could be watching you through your webcam, without you even realising. We don’t mean to unduly alarm you, but unsecured cameras on your computer could provide a malicious hacker with a direct window into your life. And once they’ve watched you for long enough, chances are they’ll try their luck blackmailing you with something they’ve seen.

Bad hair? Who'd buy a shot of that? When the camera is on, it has lights on the side to let you know it's active.

Zanjan: Notice to all Publishing Houses::::::Get your heads out of the sand!!

It's been a while since I've gone strolling through corridors looking for a book. The quest is made almost impossible when each cover sports the giant, glaring name of the author spread over 3/4 of the surface. Then there, in tiny print near the bottom, hiding amongst the bushes in the illustration is the title of the book.

Get this clear. When I go to the store, I'm aiming to buy objects, not people!

ghostgeek: We live in a world fixated on names. It doesn't matter how useless the body behind the name is, if the name is one everyone has heard of, eyes sparkle.

Zanjan: Got a thing for Russians?
I think the reason you didn't see that with classics is they were copyrighted before people tried to make a living from their art.

Zanjan: Then again, one can go a bit overboard and write for reasons other than the reader's enjoyment. IMO, Dr. Zhivago is the one case where the movie was much better than the book. I'm not a fan of plunging into the snows of meandering wordiness sans wisdom. Realistically, there should be the odd chuckle.

Thieves have stolen electronic equipment from a Russian military aircraft known as a "doomsday plane" for its role in the country's nuclear arsenal, local media report.

Reports say unknown thieves broke into the Ilyushin Il-80 plane at an airfield in the southern region of Rostov.

It is unclear when the incident took place, but 39 units of equipment and five radio boards were taken.

The local government said an investigation was under way.

Military experts say the aircraft is one of four Il-80s designed to be used as airborne command posts for Russian officials, including the president, in the event of a nuclear conflict. Interfax news agency describes them as among Russia's most classified aircraft.

Zanjan: Well, that's certainly embarrassing for Russia. I'm surprised this news wasn't censored and the event covered up. Looks like a step forward in transparency. Happy day.

ghostgeek: Not such a happy day on another front:

Russia claimed global bragging rights when it announced the development of Sputnik V in August but it was greeted with trepidation by the global medical community, partly due to the speed of its creation at the Gamaleya Institute, and also the fact that it had not been tested in a large-scale medical trial.

But experts within Russia also had doubts. After being given regulatory approval, a survey in August by the medical app Spravochnik Vracha (Doctor's Directory) found over half (52 percent) would refuse to take the vaccine compared with a quarter (25 percent) who were willing to take it.

Zanjan: That's true with all vaccines. When you get the regular flu shot, you're asked to wait 15 minutes before you can leave in case of an allergic response. With the Pfizer vaccine being administered now, there's been two allergic reactions - those were in highly sensitive people who carried around an EpiPen. By the way, they're ok.
