Trump Hates America (Page 5)

feitelberg
feitelberg: This has been an interesting conversation to read, even if I’m late to the party. As things stand now I doubt Trump will be removed from office or convicted on the impeachment charges; nor do I think there’ll charges against members of Congress for their part — although there should be, and charges against the rioters have nothing to do with treason, at least not yet. Feels like molasses are clogging up in the wheels of Justice

srbiddy09: @mdsloane77: Thanks for the ad hominem arguments.

BTW, I can give you plenty of "legit reasons" why I dislike Trump, but I will start with the obvious one: He incited an insurrection against our elected officals at the Capitol on January 6th.

Enjoy the next four years.

Motati: srbiddy09: @The giant midget: Also, referring to President Obama and Vice President Harris as "baboons" is clearly racist rhetoric." I missed this.

Fortunately you are still here srbiddy09. Why is it racist only about Obama and Harris? The giant mentioned number of presidents as baboons. What are you insinuating?

I am aware that you meant well. Next time just be careful before you call people racists. Reading both The giant and your posts as an objective person, yours is the racist one.

srbiddy09: @Motati: Thanks for your reply.

While referring to someone of White European ancestry as a "baboon" may be characterized as "rude," referring to President Obama and Vice President Harris as "baboons" is much more nefarious because the word has a much different connotation in that context. Clearly, "baboon" has racist overtones when applied to a person of color--whether the speaker intended it or not.

Fundamentally, we all need to be aware of the langauge we choose in our modern world since many words and phrases reveal the pervasiveness of Western bias stemming from a legacy of prejudice, racial injustice and discrimination

Additionally, your statement that I am a"racist" simply because I pointed out the inappropriate nature of equating Barrack Obama and Kamala Harris with primates is both illogical and silly.

Motati: My biggest concern is The giant said all those presidents are baboons. You are the one who raised the Obama and Harris issue. Therefore your statement is the racist one srbiddy.

srbiddy09: @Motati: That is an illogical statement, and I explained why in my previous post. However, I will repeat it once again: The word "baboon" takes on an entirely different meaning when it is applied to people of color.

Also, pointing out the insensitivity of someone else's comment is not "racist." LOL

srbiddy09: @Motati: Oxford English Dictionary defines a "racist" as someone who is "prejudiced against or antagonistic toward a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized."

Motati: If he could have said Obama and Harris are the only baboons. I would be supporting you. Do you know that there are places where they secretly call white people baboons?

srbiddy09: @Motati: I don't think YOU get it. LOL

Please take some time to research "racism" and then present a logical argument supporting your position that pointing out racial insensitivity in someone's language makes them a "racist."

srbiddy09: @Motati: As I've explained twice already, it doesn't matter who else he referred to as "baboons" because the word takes on an entirely different meaning when used in reference to people of color.

srbiddy09: Although I understand that Midget may not have intended it to be racist, it was still racially insensitive for the reasons that I stated above. Also, I didn't "bring Obama and Harris into it." Midget did when he included them in a group he labelled as "baboons."

srbiddy09: Yes, Gramma, that's what I was trying to point out. It is common for many of us to use racially insensitive language without even realizing it. That's why I said we need to be very aware of the language we use.

srbiddy09: @Motati: You continue to make ad hominem and illogical arguments against me. Also, you clearly feel that someone who is younger than you cannot be "right" about an issue, which reveals a lot about your character.

I will once again challenge you to research "racism" and then present a logical argument supporting your position that pointing out racial insensitivity in someone's language makes them a "racist."
