Can A Country Protect Their Citizens By Building A Wall or Fences? (Page 12)

Are you referring to the bible?

Super Esquire: Bible was the most often quoted work by our founders, hands down. Also, every American pioneer had a bible with them on their trek. God gives ppl stability and structure in their lives.

El Comandante:
I see.

It confuses me when a bible believer takes certain political positions. Like this wall for example. There are scriptures in the Old Testament that points to Mosaic laws on the treatment of foreigners or drifters. What we'll call today as immigrants.

In addition to that, those entering South the border seeking asylum etc are also bible believers. The New Testament points to how Christians are to treat their 'brothers'.

I don't think you'll really want that.

Did you know that there was a mosiac law that the Israelites were not to reap everything in their vineyards but had to leave some for widows immigrants and fatherless kids?

El Comandante:
Well. All I'm saying is if you want things to be as the bible-god states, then it goes against building a wall to keep the needy ones out and the Christian brothers more so.

It's just something to think on. Your country's whole immigration policy. Trump's move to block refugees etc all that will be removed. And many more changes.

I'll make no comment on the statement of 'foreign aid and going into other countries', I can only assure you that having the US strictly bible-based and a theocracy wouldn't turn out as you envision it. Especially the current immigration policy. Especially the current president.

All the best in your endeavours.

WonderWoman1: Good morning.. I just want to share this to those people who believe in God and really never sowed the word in their heart.. It is very disturbing to see how the scripture is being twisted to
have the" Word " fit to their agendas, culture, religion, beliefs or traditions of man. Bible twisters are very common now in America especially the Christian used it for Political purposes.

Sharpening our
Sensitivity to Scripture Twisters

Peter’s words are written so Christians will be on their guard, alert to those who twist the Scriptures. He expects the saints not only can, but should, be able to discern those who pervert God’s Word. Peter is not speaking only to church leaders or Bible teachers here; he is speaking to all the saints. Every Christian should be able to recognize those about whom Peter warns us. Peter indicates how Christians can be prepared to spot false teachers and turn from them:

17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him [be] the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (2 Peter 3:17-18).

The first thing necessary is for us to realize we have been forewarned that Scripture twisters are going to arise. They will arise not only from without but from within. Peter warns of the false teachers “among you” (2:1, see also 2:3, 13). Paul warns the Ephesian elders that some of them will depart from the truth, twisting the Scriptures:

28 “Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. 32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build [you] up and to give [you] the inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:28-32).

Super Esquire: Ww1, remember jesus' parable of the king who invites everyone to a wedding feast, and no one comes (a.k.a. the lazy, entitled americans) so the king opens the door to them off the streets (god opening the door to migrants). But god turns down the migrant on the street not wearing the wedding garment of respect. God loves ppl but also expects us to have respect, or he will turn you out the door

WonderWoman1: Are you talking about the Old Testament? The New Testament changed all that.
Galatians 3

10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it beconfirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it wasordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
