I am told jews own wall street (Page 3)

Thank you, Beaver.....I appreciate your attempt to shed some light on the topic.....as for YOU, Squirrel, I do NOT think YOU are an anti-Semite: I think that Trump and some of his worshippers ARE and I know that many of them are not Jew haters but I DO THINK that many of then are just simple minded enough to buy into it.

You think that just because Trump ACTS like he supports Israel, he is not a bigot. But his “support” is pragmatic and could vanish overnight if he felt that it would serve him politically to abandon it. That makes him almost worse than a bigot because he manipulates Jew hatred and if that isn’t true then tell me WHY, here in the United States, we ARE seeing a resurgence of anti-semitism and WHY do so many Right wing hate groups and bigoted demagogues seem to LIKE him so very much? Even people who support Trump’s policies but who are not bigots seem to recognize this. You do not live in the United States so I can verify the fact that Jew hatred is one of the oldest, ugliest and enduring forms of bigotry around and a number of Right wing hate groups here support Trump exactly BECAUSE he is that way. Consequently, after he took office, there WAS a resurgence of hate crimes and other manifestations of bigotry. This is NOT a figment of my imagination: it is a literal FACT, readily acknowledged by a number of people whose job it is to monitor Right wing hate groups and the crimes they commit. Any politician who characterizes Jew haters and neo- Nazis as “very fine people” is a demagogue who cynically manipulates that hatred for vile and malignant purposes. If you cannot see THAT, then you ought to take a closer look.

Lots of people make that mistake. They say, “Oh, Trump’s son in law is a Jew, so he CANNOT be a bigot.” Bullshit, I say, because that makes an excellent cover for his promotion of Right wing hatred. Then they tell me further that because he “supports” Israel, he must really be a good guy at heart but do you REALLY think that such a thing is NOT possible? Do you REALLY think that Trump would NOT support Israel out of cynical, political motives alone? Because if you do, there is some swamp land in Florida I would like to sell you.

You must NEVER make the mistake that a politician’s public stance on Israel reflects his TRUE attitudes: even Richard Nixon is on record as making anti-Semitic statements from the tapes he made in the Oval Office, just so you remember. And HE was a supporter of Israel because it was POLITICALLY EXPEDIENT, which makes him as bad as those who commit hate crimes. Additionally, there is the question of Israel’s domestic policies which, sadly, are brutal when it comes to how they treat their Arab population. But that is too complicated to get into at the moment.

The point is this: there have ALWAYS been anti-Semites in American political life and there always WILL BE, take my word for it. And with Donald Trump, his “support” of Israel will vanish overnight if it serves his purpose to do so. THAT is why he desperately seeks out the Jewish vote and why he had the consummate GALL to go to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem wearing a yarmulke, a sight that made me physically ill. However, THAT is just the sort of thing he WOULD do, because he has done it before and will surely do it again. I’d bank on that much.

So people who live outside the United States could be forgiven for being duped by him but the rest of us who live here know him for who and what he is: and, for the record, most Jews WILL NOT vote for him for the reasons I cited here. Unlike many Jews whose paranoia about anti-Semitism has led them to believe that a second Holocaust is coming, I do not share their fears but that does not mean that I can’t recognize a politician who cunningly and deftly manipulates Jew hatred for cynical political purposes. THAT is the real basis for Trump’s “support” of Israel. Supporting Israel and yet still being a bigot is TYPICAL of American politics and THAT is why so many politicians LOVE the idea of going to Israel, wearing a yarmulke and “praying” at the Wailing Wall. It makes for a great photo op and it gives them a chance to travel to a foreign nation at the expense of the public, where the Israelis line up to kiss their ass. What politician wouldn’t LOVE that, in addition to getting the Jewish vote in the bargain?

Sounds cynical, eh? Well, that is American politicians for you: they say they LOVE Israel and the Jews but guess what? They are NOT the same thing and they never will be either. I have lived too long as a Jew to fail to recognize this fact, even if others do not.

Look, Squirrel: for the umpteenth time, NOBODY HERE is calling you a bigot. How many times do I have to repeat that to you? All I was trying to say was that Trump is just one more example of a politician who appreciates the political advantage of cozying up to the Jews by supporting Israel. That’s all.

It was NOT meant to be personal, okay? Jesus Christ almighty, can’t you see that? I am pretty good at expressing myself in a purely verbal medium and if I REALLY wanted to characterize you as a bigot, I’d have no problem doing so. I think that you simply made a mistake that a lot of people make: support for Israel is a politician’s favorite way of getting the Jewish vote. It’s SOP in American politics and you might not know that if you lived outside the United States.

So relax....I have plenty of ideological differences with you, but try to understand this: I NEVER CALLED YOU A BIGOT AND THAT IS A FACT. So relax already and STOP being SO God damned defensive. I know a bigot when I see one and you are NOT a bigot.

Okay? Can we just move on from this already?

Like I said earlier: you exhaust me but for the sake of clarity and common decency, let me reiterate this one last time: I DO NOT THINK YOU ARE A BIGOT!!!!!!

Man, you really don't get it, do you, Squirrel? You seem to be one of these people who, for whatever reason, simply CANNOT GET IT. Whatever I say to you, good, bad or indifferent, doesn't matter, does it? It took me some time to realize it, but you DO NOT READ WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WRITE. You have it set in your mind--its more of a fixed obsession, I think--that people are out to attack you or that they have hostile motives. I have tried to reason with you, I have tried to be conciliatory, I have tried to ignore you, to placate you and to accommodate you, but none of it works and none of it will EVER work. That sounds like paranoia to me and don't think that I am calling you a paranoid. Paranoia and paranoid are two different things entirely so don't try to make it seem like you have been insulted because you have NOT. But you either cannot understand what is said to you (which I doubt) or you simply refuse to accept it as being true. That seems more likely.

You keep insisting that people like Angry Beaver and me are out to "get you" but as he correctly pointed out, more than one person has made that same observation. So its not just ME.....it seems to be YOU, and that seems clear to me now. If you respond to this I know EXACTLY what you will say: you will accuse me of "hate" but we BOTH know that is manifestly false. I made an observation in this last post about Trump and his cynical attempt to get the Jewish vote by cozying up to Israel. I did NOT personalize it nor did I "play the victim," but all YOU can see is that I made an unproven claim about Jew hatred. Do I REALLY have to remind you that six million Jews DIED during WWII as a consequence of anti-Semitism, engineered by Adolf Hitler? Or are you going to claim THAT as not being relevant?

I think this is hopeless because WHATEVER I say, you always return to the specious claim that I am motivated by "hate" but the truth is that you are unreachable in terms of ordinary communication. That is useless in this case so I am not going to try any more. My first inclination was to "block" you but that is not my way. But I am going to be very, very circumspect when it comes to what I say to you (if anything) and most important, HOW I say it. But know this, Squirrel: if ANYBODY here is guilty of trying to promote HATRED, that person, sadly, is YOU, and I think you know it, too.

Whatever has made you such a bitter, hostile and yes, HATEFUL person, I do not know but its very sad and I want no part of it. So I leave you to nurture and cultivate your own hatred. Much good may it do you. And DON'T bother responding with yet another tired, false claim of HATRED on my part....take a GOOD look in the mirror if you want to see the image of somebody who is SO warped by hatred that rational, clear thought is impossible.

Its sad and the saddest thing of all is that you DON'T get it, you don't WANT to get it and you will NEVER get it.

Upon reflection, it occurs to me that you know I was right and the thought REALLY galls you.....doesn't it? It must be humiliating when somebody sees through you as easily as I did.

Apparently, you are not completely devoid of self-knowledge, which is something, I guess, for which you should be grateful. But you won't be grateful at all......self-knowledge does not necessarily indicate self-awareness.

This is to you, Beaver:

I was re-reading some of the earlier posts and I wonder: what is it about mentioning anti-Semitism that gets Squirrel so bent out of shape anyway? I'm not one of those Jews who goes around looking for examples of Jew hatred, but something about the topic seems to be a real seed under his dentures. Its almost like he resents any mention of the subject. I only brought it up because, unfortunately, you can't be a Jew in this world without coming up against it sooner or later, and that's a sad but unfortunate truth. Its just how things are and I got used to it a long time ago. Thankfully, only once in my life did I have to confront an anti-Semite directly and it was not a pleasant experience, that I can tell you for sure. It almost ended in violence but I have a real aversion to that sort of thing and I managed to avoid it, but barely.

So what do you think it is about the topic that seems to annoy him? I am curious.

Angry Beaver: @ Echo
Really no ideas here mate
In Australia it's not a big issue that I can see, I have known parents of friends who have those tattoos on them and have not ever seen them complain or blame and I have never seen them cop any grief in that respect. Most people just live their own lives around here and let others do the same.
Having said that I have always lived in a smaller regional city, so am probably a bit sheltered in that respect
Newcastle is the 2nd largest city in NSW, 6th in Aust, pop. over 440,000 yet still retains a countrified, town kind of atmosphere.

Current town I'm in has a pop. of around 84 000
