Bernie vs. Biden

GrayGhost24
GrayGhost24: With Sunday's 11th Democratic Debate in Phoenix fast approaching and Washington state being too close to call yet, I've come to a gradual realization...maybe a "cup of Joe" is what this country needs right now.

Look, don't get me wrong, I love Bernie, and am still feeling the Bern, but last week I cast my vote for Bernie Sanders in the Primary and was outnumbered in my immediate family 2-1 and for the first time ever, I was in the minority.

I have honestly always liked Joe Biden, he's a stand-up guy, a politician to his core, but an honest and genuinely electable candidate. Realistically, he is moderate enough to appeal to both sides of the aisle. He has political experience, particularly in Foreign Affairs, and could do a solid job as President.

However, that being said, I think he is a short-term solution to a long-term problem, whereas electing Sanders would be the radical revolution I believe America needs right now. I will support whoever wins the nomination, but realistically I'm sad to say, I think that this two-horse-race is already over. The powers-that-be are afraid of Bernie, and rightfully so.

Four years ago, the Republicans had sixteen candidates seeking the nomination and somehow, ended up winning the election. Today, in 2020, it is the Democratic Party that is divided, between "The Political Elite" i.e. the wealthy, and "The Socialist Grassroots-Campaigning Hardworking Middle Class Progressive Movement" led by Sanders. Elizabeth Warren stands right between the two and I believe it will be, going-forward, her decision to support either Bernie or Biden, that will shape the course of these next few months.

Also, whoever wins the Democratic nomination should establish a politically progressive Cabinet comprised of the many candidates who ran presidential campaigns. (See next post for more details on that.) Should it be Joe Biden, I think he pairs nicely with Kirsten Gillibrand as Vice President, assuming they can work out their differences.

chronology
chronology: Gray, it seems highly unlikely that either candidate can prevent Mr Trump rolling back into the White House next November.
Mr Obama won because it looked like the American people were all bound for the flop house and the soup kitchen after the Banking crisis. But the damage Mr Trump is doing is all hidden in the books. People have forgotten about the U.S.Government shut down, that most of these jobs he has created have few hours and no benefits. Women have also forgotten he scrapped Dems legislation to guarantee equal pay for all women working for contractors on Government projects.
