The notion that Germans are morally superior (or inferior) is just wrong. The German people have suffered massively from ww1&2. Why would they celebrate Hitler or the Nazis??? Who would have erected any such statues? The Allies?  chronology: Hating, NSDAP folks have every opportunity to meet in private and remember their greatest leader. But a public statue is problematic. Jewish people have rights like the NSDAP folks have, they would be really offended by a statue of Mr Hitler. If you read Mien Kamf you will know why. You will also have Russian and Polish folks demonstrating their anger at such a statue. As for Aushwitch, well enthusing over the biggest slave labour camp outside Russia seems really odd. Practically everyone is California is going to think you are weird indeed. Personally I think if you want to remember someone who did great things back then you can visit statue's of FDR. The great man led the world out of the Great Depression and spread Liberal Democracy around the world. You have every right to praise Mr Hitler in private.
