Zanjan: Why does it have to be a Christian? I mean, if you can know so much about Christianity that you're able to carry a debate, what makes you think other non-Christians couldn't?

By your own acknowledgement, you've recognized that Christianity exists, having done so for a couple thousand years, slowly spreading around the globe and into every corner of the earth. Then you've agreed this was an energy to be reckoned with.

Was it the Jews who brought the Faith of Abraham to the North American Indians? No, it was the Christians. Had it not been for Christianity, the Old Testament would never have left the continent.

The Christians actually did the Jews a favour (I know, it's rare). You see, the Indians didn't have to despise the Jews.

Point: This religion was unstoppable until it came full circle. If God had not wanted to support it, it would have died out quickly. This is proof of substance - that it was a divinely guided religion. All Truth stands the test of time.

How can you disprove this?

ryan58581: and if god didnt support the roman pagan religion it wouldn't be as big
this is why that is wrong
religious empires rise and fall rise and fall again,
and Christianity along with its pagan and Muslim counterparts all of their supposed visions of god were personal (mohamed in a cave, jesus in a garden) only Judaism were god talked to ever 2000 people
and Christianity may have seemed like it would not grow because of romes intolerance, but outside rome it was wildfire, it almost grew as fast as the religion of Romulus and Remus
what my point is just because a religion spreads does not mean it was divinely helped,
the Jews on the other hand, were the only ones with prophecies happening in the modern age, unlike the other religions remembering lies from thousands of years before

Most Valuable Player: and why are you so sure your religion isnt a lie??? , i like the idea of if your a Christian be one, if your a Jew be one, if your a Muslim be one, aslong as your doing good things at the end of the day and your not hurting some one else, thats the way to be, you see the human race is so far bent on proving every one else wrong and the hunger for power that they have turned blind to the truth, turned blind to the faith, turned there back on the big picture, the mission, the test, the spirit.....god, only evil uses argumentation and difference as a tool to completely go against what god is all about, its like the old saying, god loves the man but hates the deed, you see he see us on a individual level, so thats how we should use our faith, our prays and our love for god, not this mob mentality of do what the next man does, god gave us a brain so it would be a big let down if we didnt use it, this way of hate isnt working, it only generates more hate, become truly who you are ment to be, find inner peace, help mankind, and let go of that fear, pain or hate, be faithful and only then you can begin to share what it is your searching for........

b). they got your number off someone that has had you working for them
if you call your self a plumber and your really not, that not only are you lieing to your self, but the person who called you, meaning you we're not telling the truth, so the truth exists in you first, before you choose to tell it or lie

gronchbove: Here is the reality of the Greco-Roman-Anglo culture - they have no religion. They are atheists. Walk down any street. Right now, Google - the "Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris." There are demons on this church? Hey, man that ain't religion. This European culture would go to a new nation and "add its gods to theirs." That is not religion, it is paganism. And we see it today.

gronchbove: The truth exists. We can all see it. Even more so now! The problem with "Christianity" is that it might be "fictitious." Read about Osiris or even Babylon and you will find the miracle birth, the prophet and links to Christmas. I look at "Christians" and I see "Pagans." I look at Muslims and they pray 6 times a day. They try to live their religions. Same thing, Jews, Buddhists and African traditional religions. I don't see Christians trying to do anything but "accept the latest political fad." If you say, "Hey I will give you $100 to outlaw Christmas, every Christian will sign up because that is the latest trend. And they prostitute themselves for that $100."

No. Does Christianity support usury? No. Lie, cheating, adultery - All these "Christians who purport to follow Christianity violate all these basic rules with aplomb."

Most Valuable Player: so is life just an observation? it is human to make mistakes, it is human to do wrong, but people do learn off things they do do wrong, they learn off mistakes, we are all trying to better our selves in one way or another, some people may never see what they do is wrong, that why i say we have to take this on an individual journey, if everything was perfect we would already be in heaven, you say basic rules, id say guidelines and lessons, when you think about it, if a religion is teaching you love help other people, to show mercy, to strive for a better good, tell me even if you believe or don't believe there is no wrong in that is there, other wise why lock up murders, animals kill with no punishment, who is to say a murders actions are wrong? ahh but the general out lay of even having morals and listening to your gut instinct says its wrong, we are above the animal kingdom, i like to think my existence is worth something, lets say i believe in god and i choose to live a good life and get to go to heaven when i die, than i choose right, now lets say, i was wrong, then me and you will both go to nothing anyway?? we both will have the same result, there is nothing to benefit from being right for a non believer. may i ask you a question? are how do you see your self? are you generally a good man or a bad man?

gronchbove: What I say is - "I believe life has meaning." I believe we "should be above animals." But I have used this analogy plenty of times - I believe we have reached a point where society treats men with less respect than humans. In Minnesota, if the government murders a man with a drone - no one is punished. If I kill a squirrel, I get fined. A squirrel is a rodent, like a mouse. But, in Minnesota, the law states you must "transport this rodent squirrel ten miles away?" Are you kidding. This world treats animals better than humans. And these are supposed to be Christians? No. They are pagans.

These squirrels have torn through screens and ripped up siding. The government is placing a rodent above a human's property rights.

Most Valuable Player: something is wrong in there own lives? something is always wrong in this world? i just find it funny when people has something go wrong or if something goes wrong else where that they always blame god, why is this? if they don't believe in him why blame him,? its like on that movie the usual suspects bone line said it all " the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world that he doesn't exist" Gronchbove it has been a pleasure talking to you,you sound very educated and well spoken, i have enjoyed this, but as for me i have to sleep now, it is very late here, all i want is a better life for people and if i make a good difference in someone's life to me thats mission successful, i will always speak my mind, sometimes i will be wrong on different subjects but thats what makes me human, but the fact that people argue over things like this, i consider it a loss, like you said actions speak louder than words so its up to everybody to try and make a difference in this world, i guess the only way we will ever find out is when we die one day, untill then peace brother and may good always follow your path, goodnight mate

Zanjan: " Lie, cheating, adultery - All these "Christians who purport to follow Christianity violate all these basic rules with aplomb." "

Well, part of that problem is they have no ID card. Most who call themselves Christian aren't a member of any congregation; they never got baptized, never went to church or offered up donations to the church, never volunteered on any religious project. They couldn't teach the gospel because they never learned it. I know skads of people like that.

When I ask them why they call themselves Christian when they have no background, their answer is this: "I believe in Jesus Christ, and that's all that's necessary; my soul is saved so I can get into heaven" I'm not kidding.

So where does your judgement come from - this group?? Furthermore, it seems odd you would assume the government is Christian, making all the laws of the land and directing cultural priorities.

Yes, I sure would transport a squirrel 10 miles to a better place - they weren't designed to live in a town, but where there's lots of big trees, squirrel food, and protection from ending up as road kill. God made the squirrels - why do you think they're not as important as man?. Dontcha know they're owl food?

If God created man without having created any of the lower realm creatures, there would be no world. What sort of human kills squirrels?? I'll tell you - somebody that doesn't give jack all for the environment or or have any reverence for life.

Zanjan: " if god didnt support the roman pagan religion it wouldn't be as big"

BIG? It was confined to the city and only left with its soldiers. Once it left, it didn't catch on; that's why it was easily swallowed up by Christianity. The pagans had strong beliefs, which they inherited from society - those beliefs never transpired into good actions.

I agree that the size of membership has nothing to do with the validity of a religion, but its spread certainly does. There's got to be something compelling about a Cause that can overcome culture shock, transcend barbaric customs, and reach through to the heart of the ignorant. This Cause transformed stricken and spiritually thirsty souls into more refined beings - such was the change brought about in the individual, they became unrecognizable as the person of the former.

Anything that causes one to turn over a new leaf has got to be good. All who know that person are uplifted and amazed. Consider how nearly impossible this thing is, and how easy it is to be lured by dalliances of the devil.

These fading souls became vivified, infused with boundless energy and excitement; they formed loving bonds together as if in one family, and their shinning happiness lasted their whole life. In it's glory days, Christianity was no fly by night religious revival - it produced beautiful fruit.

Agreed, every empire that has risen has fallen; however, one they fell, they never rose again - hardly an accident. This is the cyclic nature of man's history, reflecting his tendency to eventually wander off the straight path until he's utterly lost and needs some one to come with a lantern and bring him home.

Whatever the Jewish faith can attribute to Christianity, it can also attribute to itself - that's because it's all the same, changeless Faith of God, in whatever cycle and age man was capable of expressing it.

Furthermore, I hate the term "Personal God", which was never used in scripture. This suggests everyone has a god of their own, which is a lie. It pretends that God is human-like in His interactions and language. There was never any need to insert the word 'personal', but man is full of pride and it shows in his own choice of language.
