I can't begin to count the number of times I've heard others threaten "God's gonna strike you with a bolt of lightening for that!". (Christian tradition of dualism). What need of the devil when God can do as He pleases, when He's perfectly capable of showing His wrath? Remember the Titanic.

Zanjan: The devil is just a fanciful figure. Evil isn't merely the absence of the light of God, it's rejection of that light.

Communism was a political attempt to control people's minds - all forms of religion were a threat to that because the people's spirits were too strong to control.

In Russia, once religion was banned, the government paid workers in bottles of Vodka to further weaken them; the people had to trade those bottles in for a loaf of bread to feed their family. Some could only drink it. What government didn't realize is that nobody is more angry than an alcoholic who's been treated unjustly.

Government didn't factor in people's unmanageable taste for music; they traded it in dark alleys just like drug deals - stuff like Frank Sinatra, Elvis and the Beatles. Communism didn't project that tourists would bring many extra pairs of genes with them and people would pay any price for those. Fashion MUST change; vanity must go on, and youth will always want to stand out in the crowd as being different.

Conformity simply doesn't work.

When the Iron Curtain fell, Russia, having seen such demoralization and the dispirited state of their peoples, heartily began to encourage religious groups to develop programs to teach the people, and to establish themselves as the strongest force for the re-building of society. In China, young people have seen that and realized this truth.

Whenever you think a country is old fashioned, rigid and backwards, you can trust that their people still see what's going on in the rest of the world and will want to keep up with the Jones's. Nothing can prevent it.

If things like the Devil are in part natural then people really can't be wishing the them on to others.

catman5141: Devil is real him and God been at war since the beinging in the garnden with adam and eve all was foretold then what is now that why noone get it because many are called few are chosing .study god words dwell on them proverbs then u will be rich and full.

Zanjan: Of all those who've studied God's Words, only some are rich and full - that's why the rest have broken up into many different sects.

If one is rich and full, they have no need to part company; in fact, they'll do everything within their power to help believers unite.

meanwhile...folks appear ta have forgotten or it hasn't dawned on them.. for who knows y reasons when ever they hear or are discussing "Bible" stories ,legends & myths.. that the first LIE was spoken in Heaven..the very first act of Disobedience was in Heaven which was a act made by the devil himself.Murder was plotted planned & attempted in Heaven...by that same entity...that HUMANITY has no self defense against that existence, that it meaning that very entity can ,has & does play at BEING GOD,it will over ride your free will and have you do think act as it so chooses for you...

deuce916: I just don't understand why god doesn't kill off the devil. I mean, if god is all-powerful then it should be no problem. If god knows what everyone is doing it should be no problem. If god knows where everyone is it should be no problem. I think it's just a story that was not very well thought up. I mean, if god did create everything, why did he create the devil. Quite a foolish thing to do. And god is supposed to be wise. Hmmm.

ghostgeek: Supposedly, the Devil exists so we all have a choice. We can follow God or we can take a left turn and carouse with the guy sporting those sexy horns and pointy tail. It's called "free will", only of course it's a lie. If God exists, He long ago decided what we're going to do, so our fate is preordained. The Devil, though, does give God an excuse to boil us in molten pitch. We've been naughty.

If God is all knowing and all powerful, as it is claimed He is, then neither the Devil nor ourselves possess free will. It is an impossibility. If God is omniscient then before the act of creation He would know how it would all unfold. Every act, every event, that would ever transpire, from the beginning of creation to the end, would be known to God before He brought the universe into existence. If you like custard creams, God would have known about it before time began, before the first starlight shone, before anything was called into being. If God didn't want you to eat custard creams He could have created a universe where you would never touch such a delicacy. Being omnipotent this would have been easy for Him. There are many ways in which the universe could have been arranged and God would know the full and complete history of every one of them. It would be His choice which came into existence and therefore His choice as to how people would behave. God would choose who would do good and who would be wicked. It follows, therefore, that destiny is preordained by God for all created things, including the Devil. If there is guilt it is God's alone, for He alone chose what would be. This is what must be if God is all powerful and all knowing.

ghostgeek: It would seem that the Vatican believes in demons and the Devil. I expect then that the Pope believes in Heaven and Hell as well. With a bit of luck he might also have faith in God. It certainly makes a refreshing change from those trendy divines who seem to believe in nothing at all.

harlett anathema: ps...by the way...every now & then pbs channel 13 brings out the Italian newsreels archives... where they filmed Italian Children being possessed no not possessed like the exorcist.......the newsreels are from the 1930's-40's-50's....i bet every fine hair on your body will react ta seeing those newsreels and that your ears will shudder at hearing those other world voices...

1. Allegedly hemlock carried in a red charm bag protects from all evil, but be careful: it's poisonous!

2. Sew bits of iron ( nails for instance ) into the hems of garments for protection from evil. ( The spell only works when the clothing is worn. )

3. Cast a circle using salt. Sit within the circle until you feel that it's safe to come out.

4. Clearly and explicitly write your desire for protection onto a piece of paper, then burn it, reserving the ashes. Place these ashes in a conjure bag, together with asafetida, bones, nail parings, and graveyard dirt. Wear it around your neck to ward off illness, malevolent spirits and spells.
