Laura _: Gays will be raised with the rest of the dead, only the truly evil will be put in the lake of fire to be completely destroyed.

ghostgeek: The next ruling religion? It sounds as though you think some religion is ruling the globe right now. The world has never been ruled by any one religion and seems in no hurry to see the situation change. Mind you, bombs and tanks are the true missionaries of God, so if you want to know which religion to follow see which has the most and follow that.

Zanjan: " I would really like to know what will be the next ruling religion."

That depends on where you live. Where I live, the big names have come and gone so the next one is a new name. Makes sense right?

Perhaps you were thinking of a new civilization? That would be much easier to identify. Here's a hint - the civilization of mankind began changing 1.5 centuries ago.

Laura _: Gee Zanjan.....You don't know Christ will return after the tribulation and and set up His Kingdom on earth? Mathew 24......are you still Mormon??

Zanjan: I was never a Mormon or Christian either, for that matter. Tribulation?? Hell, when has there never been tribulation??? Every one of the old religions had it. Islam still hasn't finished with its apocalypse.

You'd be looking at a peaceful civilization - I chose not to identify with a gun-totin' one.

Laura _: Oh my apologies Zanjan.. You made comments on the Biblical Sabbath and referring to Mormons.

Mathew 24:21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now and never be.

True peace will come after Christ returns and fixes all the messes man has made.

Christ's True Church isn't the gun-totin" one either...

Zanjan: Let's see........ what bad shit has never happened since the beginning of the world until "NOW", and never will again? Well, Matthew's "NOW" was 2 thousand years ago. Should be pretty easy to identify. All you’d need is one single thing to tip you off, you know, like the Pope getting shot.

But that wasn’t it – Christians already recognized they were living in the end times back in the late 1800s. Large groups went out to meet Jesus in the sky. Sadly, they didn’t spot Him so they prayed to God, asking “What’s the problem?’ God answered, saying ‘Behold! Jesus doesn’t use clocks to beam His favorites to heaven’.

Christ won’t clean up the messes man has made – God did that once and promised He wouldn’t do that again. Remember? Used up too much water. It’s our responsibility now - we’re not babes in the woods anymore. God instructed us to be alert to opportunity and seize it as the chance won’t come again.

Ephesians: chapter 5; 15-17
“ See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Zanjan: The world of the ancients was small, both intellectually and geographically. According to the Bible, their spiritual world began after Noah's flood, and their material "world" leapt into a new sphere with the invention of writing.

Whatever followed after that was too minor to be considered a real game changer in the fortunes of humanity - just a string of technical advancements and an ever-expanding historical list of political lessons learned the hard way. Mostly, this was ‘insider’ knowledge.

To the ancient Greeks, wisdom was “knowledge”. Philosophy, logic, inventions, the arts, scientific and natural discoveries, etc – the more you knew, the more wisdom you had; thus, the taller your hat. No so for the Jews – they understood wisdom as “living skills”. Obviously, those had a tendency to go down the toilet fairly often.

No, we’re talking about a writhing of the worm on a gargantuan scale. We’re looking for the Big Crunch, something nobody could miss, right? That’s followed by the Big Light that makes all things visible – a rising new civilization everyone could see.

Let’s stop thinking about who gets picked and start looking around to see what’s really different. There's too many 'firsts' in just the last century to count; we’re only looking for staying power – having occurred once, it never needs to be re-done….you know, like reaching adulthood.

sprocket girl:
I am totally humored by the athiest take that religion has caused so much opression. On an individual level possibly depending on the religion. On a mass level political governments oppress people at a far greater level. Since communism bans religion it is surely freeing of the people!

More misplaced and misunderstood teachings of Karl Marx. "Religion is the opium of the masses", the man stinking in his own filth chanted. All while watching 4 of his 7 children die from lack of care. After all he was self exclaimed too good to do the work of the humble masses. The guy hated religion because it controlled peoples thinking, which interfered with him doing it. Anyone who states that killing off some for the better of the many is a good idea, is kinda crazy. Even if he had not watched his kids starve to death, kinda crazy....

I do not think any religion rules the world. More so governments run by the wealthy trampling on the poor. All agenda based and agenda driven.
