I no more want theist views to rule my life then I want atheist views to rule it.

Anyhow, that all is my point. Insults of intellegence, backing an ideoligical view. Atheists for the most part are absolutely no different than theists.

I do agree that atheist and theist in general are trying to force belief on people. That was why I spent all those posts showing both the atheist and theist is basiclly a jerk.

Well, claiming you know there is not a god of any kind or that there is in fact no higher power. To me is claiming to know Absolute Truth. Of course there either is or is not dieties but having knowledge of which is the case seems a claim of knowledge of absolute truth.

My personal belief is irrelevant to my replies. My stand in regard to this thread is that the majority of atheist are rude and insistant on being correct much like the majority of theists. My stand was both groups equally stink. Sadly, I do belong to one but hope unlike most that it is not my "team". As I personally find both groups extremely annoying. As I am sure some or many find me.

Sorry was not meaning imply you claimed to have knowledge of all Absolute Truth. Just have no idea how one can know for certain there is no diety. It seems equal to those of religion claiming certainty of a diety.

deuce916: It's simple. There is no proof of a god, ergo, there is no god. People can't prove there's a god because there isn't one that there is any proof of. Anywhere. Tell me, what news reports have you read, in your life, that have reported on what god has done.

While I have no issue with what an atheist or theist believe. It does get old being told be either that they know things and anyone who disagrees is inferior...

Lack of proof of something does not prove the opposite. For example there is no proof aliens have visted Earth. This does not initself prove they have not.

I get the stand that one does not believe in a higher power without proof. What I do not get is that this proves the opposite.

deuce916: When you have reports of god being in a human form then the lack of evidence to that absolutely means there is no god.

Duece, I have very little fears. You or telling you something are not one of my fears.
My personal belief however, has absolutely nothing to do with the topic. The topic to my understanding is the attitudes and behaviors of atheists towards theists.
I was not mentioning my personal beliefs as they are not relevant and as I assume as soon as they are mentioned this whole thing will turn to personal insults.

Ghost, I not only respect that but believe it very very wise.

So, it is the Christian God you claim know for certain is not? Because a lot of gods never have never been claimed to take human form.

Charles Darwin: It's incredibly unwise to say that you "know there is no God". How do you know? Because you don't see any reasons to believe in one, correct? Then you're basing a positive claim of knowledge based on the fact that you DO NOT KNOW OF any evidence for a God. You can't say what you DO know based on what you do NOT know. It becomes an argument from ignorance.

Now, about my earlier comment regarding that one group of atheists usually having a better understanding of science than most religious folks. In my experience, they do....However, most of my experience is in the Southeastern USA with fundamentalist, young earth creationists..

There's nothing special about an atheist that makes him better informed about science, though. He's not somehow smarter because he rejects belief in a God...It's just that typically, the people who label themselves the same way tends to embrace science and so he (or she) can read and learn about it with an open mind....whereas a lot of religious folks....mostly creationists....Tend to see science as a negative thing, especially concerning anything that seems to contradict what they believe. They tend to avoid it. I've been both a creationist and now, an atheist. As a creationist, I was discouraged from reading and learning about science.

You do realise that you are the one of the two of us promoting a belief. You claim there is in fact no God. I consent there is no proof of God. Lack of proof however I do not see as proof of non existance.

There is no actual proof William Wallace lived. There is no proof of Socrates. However the lack of proof does not determine they never lived.

In science the burden of proving God goes on the believer. However, this does not disprove the possibility of God.
