why would God want Job to suffer? (Page 2)

Zanjan
Zanjan: The people in the cave sat around their fire, talking, telling stories and being entertained by the dancing shadows on the wall. As the fire sputtered low, one person went to retrieve more wood, stockpiled near the mouth of the cave.

The member picked up a torch from the fire and as he approached the exit, he noticed bright light streaming into the cave. Quickly, he returned to his compatriots, "Come see, it's daylight, time to hunt!". But the people didn't want to leave their fire, despite their hunger. They said to him "You go out there and hunt, then bring the prize back to us".

Dutifully, he departed. After many hours had passed, the member returned, dragging in an Ibex. His compatriots said to him "We can't eat that, we've never eaten it before so it must be poison. YOU eat it". Thus, the fellow ate the whole Ibex so there was none left for the others.

A few days passed; his compatriots saw for themselves that he had not gotten sick and died. They said to him, "We now feel safe to eat the Ibex; go out and get another for us". The fellow said "No, it's your turn; I'm still digesting my feast". But they were too afraid to leave the cave, being too weak from malnutrition to hunt. Soon, his companions died.

Zanjan: " Few have misinterpret the Bible as much as you do"

Who would YOU be to decide for everyone the correct way to interpret of the Bible??

You've chosen an interpretation, not me.

"'you seem to believe you Know everything "

Apparently, we can expect you to say the same thing to Christ when you see Him return in a different body.

We shall have to wait and see Zan. I think christianity is the only religion that promisses slaughtering, ethnic cleansing and butchery of people on a world wide scale. Billions of people being dragged away to be tortured for ever in hell. I always remember talking to one Guy who was really getting off on the slaughter Jesus will bring. He spoke about swords swinging and blood everywhere with heads rolling in the streets.

Blackshoes: Zanjan You and others have often complained that I copy and paste and do little other than Parrot God Word !
So I;m either Interpreting or I parroting ? Which is It
When you make ridiculous assumptions of what YOU and your friend believe happen rather that what already been written down to enlighten you and those that accept the truth .Why dare you complain when I call you on it

You and your friends continually state your opinions n' interpretation of what you think happen
About event thousands of years old Often denying God Word ",Rather than accepting The Bible and the prophets word on it '.
As I've stated a number of times' If you don't believe or agree with the Bible That's your opinion .As for me I believe what the Eye witnesses stated in the Bible ! After all they were there You were not !

You seem to take me as your enemy ',when all I'm doing is Preaching God words .Unlike you and others Just preaching's Your own doctrines and opinions of men .

Chron The Majority Of Christian think little of God Warning and horrors within the Book of Rev
Few bother studying the Book of Rev or the Bible ,the Few that do 'often become frighten or indifferent to the Prophesies . I've never meet anyone that felt any Joy in destination of the poor souls that believe the lies and follow the flesh devil and the
world

I'd imagine there are some souls that feel that way . It's not likely they Understand the Entire Message within the Bible is there so that they Believe on the Son of God and repent In Love and faith , It seem that soul needs to examine where his or her heart is

My only commission from Jesus in this life' is too tell the truth !

Zanjan: Chron: "Spiritualists say the world is approaching one of it's important crossroads."

They're a little late to the game. People have been saying that for a couple hundred years so, they must have already been standing at the crossroads. You realize, crossroads trigger confusion, right? This is why traffic lights were invented.

You bring up a good point about return - this is bold admission that something and/or someone went away, that said individuals no longer have access to. Undoubtedly, should said something return, it would spear very foreign to most eyes, and the individual would seem to behave like an alien.

People don't like deprivation, BUT, it's not until one is so seriously deprived that his very own life is threatened, will he make a move to slake his desire for something better. It's instinctive.

In all honesty, I'd have to say both. A few others have already told you that but you either don't believe them or your habit is so long-standing you haven't been able to break it. Just sharing between friends, eh.

"You seem to take me as your enemy ',"

All my enemies are my friends - often, better friends to me than those who claim they are. Since the two can be easily mistaken, I choose my enemies first - those are *always* reliable and totally predictable.

Thank you, Blackshoes, for you being you. I mean that, seriously.

Totally agree with you there. For good reason - they've been advised all that crap will happen to somebody else, not Christians.

Zanjan: So, who hasn't suffered? Definitely, some have suffered more than others. The lovers of God may not enjoy it much but they welcome it, embracing it head on.

They know that good things will come of tests, especially the vicious kinds. With each test passed comes more strength and knowledge of how much better they can do next time.

These can look back on old storms, laugh and say "Well, that was fun".

chronology: Zan, Dr Billy Graham made an interesting comment about this one time. He quoted Jesus 'blessed are you when men speak all manner of evil against you for My sake; as Dr Graham reflected 'just make sure it is for His sake' ., Many people who suffered for religion in the past did so for supporting heretical views. As Dr Johnson said about some people who were forced to emigrate to America for attacking the Church of England 'they were not persecuted for their views, they were punished for attacking established religion and promoting error' .

Have to say repectfully tho Zan, it was a sad day indeed when Dr Graham backed Mit Romney against Mr Obama. Some saw that choice as ditching Christ in favour of his beloved GOP. He may be a registared Democrat, but like most wealthy Southerners, he never met a Right Wing Republican he never loved) . Even so, Dr Graham is still loved esteemed and respected around the world by millions. Hey, that is the reputation most celebs would like.

Zanjan: Well, it's not a ham sandwich! Jesus tried to teach His disciples to walk on water but they kept sinking because of lack of trust. He just watched them fumble the ball.

Seems to me, the Apostles were just regular humans - I don't think Jesus would ask humans to do something they didn't have potential to do.

I take it your answer is 'no'.

Zanjan: " it's not within OUR power to walk on water "

Obviously. However, that's *your* problem. Not mine.

The weakness and failure of the disciples gives us a view to the challenges and human limitations Christians had. If even the Apostles fell asleep at the most important time, you can bet future followers didn't fare any better.

History, to this very day, attests to that *overall* failure to live up to the teachings of Christ. Except for the martyrs, they struggled from the get go and acted as if they had faith but no trust.

Consequently, only a few in each generation would have had access to the Holy Spirit - just enough to convince it was possible....exemplary souls who gave them hope that they, too, could become like that.
