why would God want Job to suffer? (Page 5)

Cenababy
Cenababy: Jesus specifically said he was leaving the holy spirit with us as our comforter. So yes to both. He did leave and I have the holy spirit to intercede between Jesus and i.

Zanjan: Cena, He gave no guarantee that every believer would be able to access the Holy Spirit, or do so all of the time. If they could, there would be no disobedience, no law-breaking, no tears or embarrassments, no need of the divine judgment and Christ to return.

The One Christ called the "Comforter" is a "He" and, He was to come in the future, at Christ's behest - not as anyone demands.

Zanjan: Blackshoes: “Zanjan It's your opinion that telling the truth is Nasty?”

Only to the atheists and the wicked. I was talking about YOUR nastiness, your own approach.

“I only point out your inability to state the facts and the Bible correctly '.”
Seeing that you continually make assumption and conclusion about the Bible
and Noting how incorrect and wrong you so often are ! “

Those are false accusations made directly against an individual, the same against others besides me. Christ forbid believers to individually judge others. The modern term for that is “prejudice”. Since it's not a virtue, nothing good can come out of that.

Thus, we, the accused, see no difference between your accusations and those of the ancient Jews against Christ. They thought they understood too. A few clergy accused the wrong person; and, with a lie to boot - their intent was to injure. ALL the Jews paid the price for that.

Is that fair? Yes, because the Jews had, for a long time, let their clergy and the errant have the run of the barnyard, refusing to bring them to account. Consequently, everyone suffered.

If you won't listen to any warnings, including mine, that’s your business but don’t think you can get out of it with impunity. We hold you to God’s commands. That’s all that needs to be said about this.

chronology: Zan, you do say some odd things. Now you are giving out warnings in God's Name.

Cena has nothing to worry about. She has Jesus Christ, Lord of all Creation as her Advocate with God. While Cena has a friend as her Advocate, you have 'King Jesus' as your Judge. Nothing more dangerous than a King as your Judge Zan. Who are you going to appeal to?

Zanjan: God is my Judge and Baha'u'llah is my King - not an advocate, but a better friend to me than I am to myself. I ask God for help, not for absolution.

Nothing I say is contrary to what any of the other Kings have said, all of Whom I recognize, just as They did, as having been sent by God.

Chron, I really don't want to make the topic into a discussion about the posters here.
I bring awareness to the table. We should be talking about classic dynamics.

Occasionally, I address a problem when it raises it's ugly head but I don't harp on it. We can all have a difference in understanding without holding others in contempt or pridefully lording ourselves over them. No one is fond of swimming in a polluted pool.

Zanjan: Job's “friends” came to help him. Did Job ask them for help? No.

If they had known Job, then surely they’d have known He didn’t need their help. We’d expect strangers to be presumptuous, not those familiar with each other.

Flashback: Everyone is prejudiced against Job. He knows he has enemies, who've caused this prejudice - an enemy is somebody who gets in your way. Job isn't stupid - he's patient, relying on God to flush them out.. Job knows that the longer he's patient, the bolder his enemies will become.

Guess what, suddenly a handful of men pay him a visit. The ensuing conversation shows the men with different understandings vying with each other for the most convincing story. All of them were against Job.

However, Job accommodates them, permitting them to conduct their kangaroo court. Through it, we see the intentions of the men are to break him. Job's intention is to permit them to carry on until they've unquestioningly exposed themselves as the same guys who caused all of Job's losses in the first place.

When that moment came, the trial was over. Thus, Job was vindicated and justice was served.
