https://www.gotquestions.org/learn-from-Mosaic-Law.html Cenababy: The Mosaic Law and Christians, Good study blog. I think people maybe need to speed their cogs up and study a bit more, instead of jamming to all, that the Mosaic law should be followed by all. THEN perhaps you are not Christian! Study up, let's have a good conflab! lol chronology: Pork is not banned to believers Zan. But Blood is. 'Blood Sausage' eating is actually a serious sin right up there with sex outside marriage. Zanjan: Well, tell the Germans and the Irish that - among their most famous foods, Blood pudding, Blood soup, and Blood sausage.....none of it's raw; it's all cooked, just like your steak. chronology: Not really Zan, the Irish folks love their 'Black Puddings' and they will probably have some sharp words for folks who tell them they are in trouble eating it. Cenababy: what's a serious sin?? lol, aways makes me snicker when people say that....there is no one sin worse or better than the others, the only sin not forgiven is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, rejection of Jesus. example: lying is no worse or better than gossip, slander, liable, deceit or any other. Sin is sin to God. suchso: I agree Cenababy, The unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Mark 3 22T he scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He [Jesus] is possessed by Beelzebul," and "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons." ... 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin "-- 30 because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit." They accused Jesus of getting his power from the devil (the deceiver), when His power was actually through God's Spirit. Jesus's response was, "why would Satan be against his own? A kingdom divided will fall". That's logical. Zanjan: In Mark 3: "28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation." According to scripture, actually, some blasphemies can be forgiven. Christ was put to death on the charge of blasphemy yet Jesus said "Forgive them for they know not what they do". There's a special promise given to the Jews - although they didn't recognize Christ, they were still God's people and God would lead them and fulfill His promise to them. Eventually, they would recognize and accept their Messiah. Ergo, that merciful leniency rested on actually being among God's people. One can believe in God but still lack sight, still be misled. It's what you worship that counts. According to God, in the Baha'i scriptures, it's *disbelief in God* that wont ever be forgiven. No soup for atheists/agnostics and pretenders - has always been that way. Keep in mind that, while on earth, one still has time to change - too late when you die. (Edited by Zanjan) chronology: A serious sin is a sin which you know to be a sin but commit it anyway. If you speak direspectfully of a Congressman ot woman, or of the F.B.I. you are deliberatly doing something Paul has clearly told you not to do in Romans. There are some folks who do not realise they are sinning. When a Guy uses a 'knock off' cable reciever to watch movies and sports without paying. That is theft, but he may not understand it is being a theif to watch T.V.s without subscibing. Same with buying pirate copies of DVDs. That is theft, but people do not realise that sometimes. chronology: The 'Big One' among Americans Zan is 'Abortion' even Mother Theresa reckoned a woman who had an abortion would burn in hell for ever for doing. No repentense for that they say. Streight down to the fire. Zanjan: Well, the ancients didn't need to be told not to have an abortion. They knew what murder was. chronology: Touchy subject Zan. Personally I have no views on it. Women insist they have the right to decide if they carry a baby to birth, other people say the baby has a right to be born. I stay out of the dispute. Zanjan: If God wontonly forgave every sin, there would be no justice. Above all things, God is just - to those who know they're doing wrong, He gives what they've got coming. Luca68: Oh God is a God of justice..But he's also a God of mercy, We see these to sides come together at the cross, He spared not his own Son so we could have mercy. Zanjan: Jesus didn't ask to be spared; He asked God to set the crown of glory on Him. Martyrdom is the greatest gift of love to God and humanity. He died for the truth, and what HE said was the truth. If God wanted Him dead, He would have just given him a brain aneurysm or heart attack. No, God granted His prayer, just as He would have if He had asked God to send an army of angels to protect Him. Jesus said that in His own words. He was a pure soul.....thus, God would have granted Him whatever He asked. How do you people make this all about yourselves??! God has always been the God of Mercy but He has never said His mercy is guaranteed - such would not be a kindness for some. We know He judges each soul on the state of his own heart - if there is any mercy, it's while one is still on earth. Not so at their final judgement. (Edited by Zanjan) Cenababy: He died on the cross is what keeps our spirit clean, not necessarily us clean. There ya go | Religion Chat Room 33 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
