Question about dealing with date and obeying GOD.

Live_By_Common_Sense
Live_By_Common_Sense: I choose to date who I choose. But by fate if God is trying to convince me to date the ones that I don't like, does that mean I am disobeying God?

Zanjan: No, there is something in them you can relate to, something that's the same in yourself. If you had a strong aversion, you wouldn't date them.

Zanjan: They say opposites attract - I know that one. These are opposite traits and personality types; one partner can help the other if they know the meaning of teamwork.

For example, one can be shy and quiet while the other is a bold performer - there are many situations where the one partner is the better choice to do the job. Yet each can gradually learn from the other how to strengthen their own weaknesses.

For something a little more challenging, suppose you're a tightwad; it could be helpful to have a partner who's a generous spender - the two can temper each other, as long as they both have good communication skills and deeply care for each other. If not, there will be intense conflict.

What will never make a good pairing is those with opposite values. That is doomed. This can sometimes be difficult to predict. The pairing started off well because both had similar principles but years later, one person changed their values.

Live_By_Common_Sense: Okay, sounds good. I ran in to people that I don't see myself with. But even my pastor is suggesting me to date some of the females that I strongly dislike. I don't get that point why he suggested for me to date them. We got nothing in common, and especially they are not my type! Even on internet, I run in to people that I do not want associate with, but they are on my friends request. So why is my fate leading me to people who I have strong aversion of. Maybe is just a phase, but yeah.

Live_By_Common_Sense: Maybe I am at fault here, because I did lost so many chances to introduce myself to many girls that was checking me out. I am a shy guy, and looks do intimidate, so when they smile at me, my stomach flutters. My anxiety goes higher and unable to communicate thoroughly without being dumbfounded.

Zanjan: I wouldn't say 'fate' is leading you to them, else you'd have hooked up by now. Sounds like nothing more than unsuitable pickin's to me.

When I was young, at least half a dozen or more guys were all wanting to date me at any given time - they were either creepy or immature.....and I was smart and very pretty with an awesome body. None of the guys cared about 'smart'. You see how that works, right? The woman chooses, not the guy. An attractive woman has to be careful where she hangs out.

I didn't find anyone suitable to date more than twice until I was 22 years old. My eldest son, on the other hand, was a bit awkward - he had his very first date when he was 27 years old. They had been on line friends for a couple months before they nervously met in person. After an hour, they weren't nervous anymore. Three years later, they got married and are still a perfect couple.

We should all be so fortunate as to get it right on the first date!

Zanjan: Well aren't you the pleasant one! Some people actually have a real social life.

In those days, you didn't sleep with a guy you only dated twice, not even after a couple months; we serial dated, not poly-dated. More than 50% of women were virgins when they married....or professed to be. The majority got married at age 18-21; they were grandmothers by their late 30's and early 40's. By the way, I wasn't pregnant when I got married.

Zanjan: That has nothing to do with it. You live in the USA - Canada has always had a variety of cultures and a different history than the USA, apart from our burning down the Whitehouse. Our society has never been your society.

Zanjan: On the other hand, nature is the same everywhere - the woman still chooses who to date, not the guy......unless its an arranged marriage situation. There were plenty of those when I was young but only among those who weren't born in Canada.

Still, at the time, the parents' opinion was worth something - that's why they almost never met our dates unless we'd received an engagement proposal.

SandeeLegs: I think we all have the choice of who we like and do not like as far as dating.
I got married at 21 years old and had my first child at 29 second at 41..
Been married 39 years. We wanted to work and be able to afford a home etc
before having children. Not everyone is in the same health condition. No, however if you take good care of yourself, don't drink or smoke etc. stay fit it sure does help a lot.

chronology
chronology: Zan, the war of 1812 was all about Americans trying to fend off the Big Banks that were again slowly tightening their strangle hold on America. The American Revolution was nothing to do with Taxes on tea or other taxes, and everything to do with Americans being shocked at the 'swindle system' that was being forced on them by the Banks back then.

Fast forward to 1812 and guess what happened? the Charter was not not renewed on the U.S. First Central Bank. 2 years later the White House and other Government Buildings were burned down. The Banks had sent America a clear message, get in line or burn.

I don't know Zan, a lot of this is 'opinion' history, but the outcome of the 1812 War was that America had another Central Bank. America was in debt up to it's Stars and Stripes to foreign Bankers, and the U.S. never again challenged the power of the Banks.

Personally Zan, it seems impossible not to have some kind of Reserve Bank if you have an commercial economy using money. But Americans always mistrusted big commercial Banks, which they saw as corrupt and a bad influence on any society. Thomas Jefferson summed up the influence of the Banks when he insisted they rob Americans of their freedom and money, just like, he claimed, the Vatican tries to rob them of their intellect and character.

Zanjan: Good point. When Jefferson was carrying on with Sally, she was his slave girl - a rare condition where the woman doesn't have a choice.
