God doesn't exist (Page 59)

Zanjan: Achilles hasn't realized that gross manners don't deserve favour and, that rhetorical questions aren't meant to elicit a response.

firstdown857: They say that a fool lives to eat and a wise man eats to live. But then the question remains: for what purpose does the wise man live? Living is not an end by itself. There has to be a purpose for man to live for. So what is this purpose?

Where from? Where to? And Why?.....
Any ignorance, however great, could be forgiven except for man to be ignorant about the secret of his existence, his aim in life and what will be his outcome after death. Some thinkers express these questions in simple words: where from? Where to? And why? Meaning: where did I come from? Where am I going? And why am I here?

Those who only believe in the material world and who do not believe in a Creator- the atheists- only believe in sensory data. They say that this universe and everything in it came by itself. All its order is simply due to blind coincidence. They say that man is simply like an animal or a plant and that he will exist for a short period and then end like any other animal or plant.

I came not knowing from where, but I came. And I saw a pathway in front of me, so I walked. And I will remain walking, whether I want this or not. How did I come? How did I see my pathway?......... I do not know!

Am I new or am I old in this existence? Am I free and unrestrained, or do I walk in chains? Do I lead myself in my life, or am I being led? I wish I know, but…
............ I do not know!

And my path, oh what is my path? Is it long or is it short? Am I ascending in it, or am I going down and sinking? Am I the one who is walking on the road, or is it the road that is moving?Or are we both standing, but it is the time that is running?...........
..... I do not know!

Before I became a full human, do you see if I were nothing, impossible? Or do you see that I was something? Is there an answer to this puzzle, or will it remain eternal? I do not know ... and why do I not know??............... I do not know!.

🤑 - This feeling of doubt and confusion about the presence of a Creator and whether He sent messengers and prophets to guide mankind must be quite painful because it deprives the Atheist and the Agnostic of tranquility, security and peace of mind. The unbelievers do not have credible answers to the purpose of one’s existence. And thus they say that man lives for himself and for the pleasures of this life. So what happens when life turns sour? What happens when one goes through hardships? It is no coincidence then that the largest number of suicides takes place amongst Atheists, Agnostics and people who do not know their purpose in life. Do you know which country has the largest number of suicides? It’s Japan. In the year ending March 2000, there were 33,000 suicides in Japan. That is 91 suicides per day or 1 suicide every 15 minutes! This despite Japan being the second largest economy in the world wherein people do not have to worry about providing a roof over their heads or about food or medical care.

GOD SAID :-
- 20:124 And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
- 20:125He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?"
- 20:126 [ God ] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten."
- 20:127 And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring.
- 20:128 Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence.

firstdown857: Aspect ):

'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?Jeremiah 8:8.

36 But you must not mention 'the oracle of the LORD ' again, because every man's own word becomes his oracle and so you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God.Jeremiah 23:36

Behold, the word of the LORD is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.Because from the least of them even to the greatest of them,Everyone is given to covetousness; And from the prophet even to the priest, Everyone deals falsely. Jeremiah 6:10, 13

-- Both The Old Testament & the New Testament are temporal.

9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 1 Corinthians 13:9-10.

SO CAN YOU EXPLAIN THESE FEW VERSES FOR ME PLEASE?

Zanjan: Jeremiah lived at a time when the Jews had fallen from grace because they no longer obeyed the Covenant. He warned them of the consequences and God's displeasure but most refused his attempts to reform them.

God is patient and forbearing; He never does anything without warning the people first so they can have a chance to respond appropriately. As it is, one bad apple in the barrel spoils the rest; thus, they were condemned. In a visual exclamation mark, God sent an army to destroy the temple and take the Jews into slavery. After a time of chastisement and suffering, the humbled ones were returned to rebuild.

We have the story and confirmed history. What would be the alternative outcome? Surely chaos and permanent ruin, perhaps extinction of the Jews would have occured in such a disagreeable environment but justice was served - it wouldn't have been if God didn't exist.

The last verse is self-explanatory. Nevertheless, many still reject perfection; they don't like change. The longer they resist change, the bigger becomes the learning curve. Eventually, they just can't climb that mountain. Whatever water they had in their glass evaporates and they perish.

Like how pretending god exists entitles you to kill people that don't follow "the covenant"

Zanjan: Naturally, one can't expect an atheist to own up to their little idiosyncrasies and personal desires but please don't misquote me, adding my name to your words.

Nobody was killing people because they didn't follow the Covenant. Men kill people because they just don't want to negotiate. If you like to think that when you die it's because God killed you, then who am I to argue with you?

theHating:
The argument goes something like this:

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanished in a puff of logic.

"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.

Most leading theologians claim that this argument is a load of dingo's kidneys, but that didn't stop Oolon Colluphid making a small fortune when he used it as the central theme of his best selling book 'Well That About Wraps It Up For God'.
