5:19 O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers, lest you say, "There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner." But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent.

5:20 And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds.

5:21 O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah 's cause] and [thus] become losers."

5:22 They said, "O Moses, indeed within it is a people of tyrannical strength, and indeed, we will never enter it until they leave it; but if they leave it, then we will enter."

5:23 Said two men from those who feared [to disobey] upon whom Allah had bestowed favor, "Enter upon them through the gate, for when you have entered it, you will be predominant. And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers."

5:24 They said, "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it, ever, as long as they are within it; so go, you and your Lord, and fight. Indeed, we are remaining right here."

5:25 [Moses] said, "My Lord, indeed I do not possess except myself and my brother, so part us from the defiantly disobedient people."

Actually, schizophrenia perfectly describes mankind's standard condition, as what the word etymologically means is "split mind". Almost all humans throughout history are quite content to possess an inchoate mishmash of ill-formed and mutually-contradictory ideas. And that standard condition of humans does often result in mass-death. Though in being mankind's standard condition, it popularly goes uncommented upon, since almost anyone in a position to comment upon it is themself a sufferer of it, and hence regards it as normal. Which, for humans, is quite normal--horrifically so.

It's a non sequitur that this horrific condition of humans would have resulted in mankind's extinction. Natural evolution doesn't create heavenly angels (for that, one needs artificial evolution)--but rather, in mankind's case, creatures that are just barely constructive enough to reach our present state. That is, during mankind's evolution, humans have been almost as destructive as they have been constructive, with the latter just barely inching ahead. When it comes to obvious progress noticeable within a single generation, it's only been with the arrival of the Industrial Revolution that mankind's appetite for destruction has been outstripped by the exponential advancement of technology.

For the details regarding mankind's extreme naturally-evolved sadomasochistic psychopathy and schizophrenia, see my following article:

Zanjan: While the word " schizophrenia", means 'split mind', that's not how the diagnosis is made. We shouldn't be using that word without a confirmed medical diagnosis, not even in jest.

You're confusing it with *spiritual* illness, which is a disturbed mind and heart. It's an environmental infection caused by pain and neglect, which is pandemic in a dysfunctional society. This is what God seeks to remedy when He sends His Revelators. It's curable.

"Progress" has a wide band of interpretation; briefly, it's movement toward prosperity. Civilization is ever-advancing; when one falls, it will always be replaced by a better one.

There's a crazy imbalance of character strength in society right now. Outwardly, perspectives have changed and widened - there's more tolerance and acceptance than a century ago, and more than 50 years ago due to better education.

Yet, even in the most prosperous countries, the scale weighs heavily on *inner* destructiveness. Few are happy. Man is naturally a social creature. There's too many divorces, too many runaways, too many isolated individuals, too many addictions, suicides, and so forth. These are conditions of the heart.

However, this is temporary - God corrects the imbalance but not overnight.

James Redford: Zanjan, it's possible to correctly make that diagnosis since extreme schizophrenia is an unavoidable part of mankind's natural evolution.

The demons are quite real. Anything one can interact with is real and exists--in some form or another. The interesting question centers around what is their actual ontological nature, i.e., in what form do they actually exist.

The veridical answer to that question is that the demons (and their updated edition for the modern era, the aliens) are particular naturally-evolved parts of our own mind, i.e., they are particular subsets of our own consciousness: mostly the demons/aliens/etc. exist in our subconscious, but the highest levels of the elite occult societies have figured out over the ages various mental techniques to bring the demons to the fore, to the conscious level. These demons are the gods of old, the ones that required human sacrifice.

For much more on what is going on with the demons/aliens/spirit-guides/etc., see my following article:

James Redford: Hi, Zanjan. You asked, "What are your cures?"

Truth is the only cure. For a good start on that, everyone is encouraged to consult my following articles:

* James Redford, "The Physics of God and the Quantum Gravity Theory of Everything", Social Science Research Network (SSRN), Sept. 10, 2012 (orig. pub. Dec. 19, 2011), 186 pp., doi:10.2139/ssrn.1974708, https://webcitation.org/74HMsJGbP

Howbeit, soon technology will become advanced enough to convert our human brains into artificial computer hardware (i.e., at the cellular level, such as by using nanobots), at which point we will be technologically immortal; and due to the vast amounts of computational resources at that time, we will also be superintelligent. The leading technologists place this epoch circa 2045, although it can come much quicker, particularly given the incredible recent advancements in machine-learning Artificial Intelligence via artificial neural networks. Said epoch is often termed the Singularity, or the Technological Singularity, and the field of interest pertaining to it is most commonly called transhumanism.

Once humans become technologically immortal and superintelligent gods in literal Heaven on Earth, said posthumans will easily be able to edit-out the naturally-evolved psychological pathologies in the code of their own mental programs. This process itself will be a systematic exercise of Truth.

"are particular naturally-evolved parts of our own mind, i.e., they are particular subsets of our own consciousness:"

I don't think there's any proof consciousness evolves - it's a particular sentient feature of brain development in the womb. One is either aware or they're not. While the brain grows more cells until the child becomes an adult, it doesn't grow new brain parts.

Perhaps you're intending to mean "knowledge" increases. However, that comes with education, not evolution.

We can't build an organic brain; you can bet we can't build one made of hardware either. You can call it whatever you want but if it's not organic, it's not a brain. An organic brain is self- healing.

It seems to me what you describe would be a serious downgrade from the human brain, which has the capacity of "intellect". No man can govern this - it's bestowed by God commensurate with the spiritual virtues the individual acquires. It's intangible. Hardware can't touch it.

You seem inordinately confident of future technology. Personally, I like to keep my perspective within the realms of what we already know. We know because we're already doing it.

James Redford: Hi, Zanjan. The evolution that I referred to is natural evolution. Your comment referring to a "cure" has nothing to do with anything I wrote, other than a misunderstanding on your part.

Unless there is something that is literally magic about the human brain, then it is simply a physical device made up of molecules, which in turn are made up of atoms. Thus, it is inevitable that advancing technology will eventually far exceed the capabilities of the puny, nearly-unconscious human ape-brain.

Though for argument's sake, even if there is something that is literally magic about the human brain, what prevents us from using some of this magic in our technology? Why would this magic care, or how would it even know, if we were to apply it to our technology?

The only way this magic could care or know is if it itself is sapient, and is actively thwarting any attempt by beings in our reality to construct sapient artificial devices. In effect, we would already be living in a simulated reality whereby the more-advanced society running the simulation is actively preventing us from constructing artificial sapience.

So the Strong Anti-AGI position turns out to inherently logically assume that AGI is true and has already been constructed, but that we are living in a simulated reality whereby the beings running the simulation are preventing their simulated people from manufacturing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

The below is an excellent lecture by neuroscientist Dr. Sam Harris, one of the main leaders of the New Atheist movement, at a June 2016 TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conference.

* "Can we build AI without losing control over it? | Sam Harris", TED ( youtube.com/user/TEDtalksDirector ), Oct. 19, 2016, YouTube , www.ted.com/talks/sam_harris_can_we_build_ai_without_losing_control_over_it

As Dr. Harris points out, unless there is something literally magic about the operations of our brains, then it is a purely physical process that can be replicated via advanced-enough technology. Harris further points out that given any rate of progress, it is inevitable that superintelligent godlike machines will one day be constructed. So Harris believes in the existence of gods, it's just that he knows--as do I--that they exist in the future; and the not-so-distant future, at that. Therefore we come to the ironic insight that materialistic atheism, consistently applied, unavoidably results in theism. Consistent atheism turns out to be theism.

Zanjan: James wrote: "Unless there is something that is literally magic about the human brain, then it is simply a physical device made up of molecules, which in turn are made up of atoms. "

The brain is not a "MIND". The mind is a rational entity - it might be sapient (wise) or not but it's definitely sentient. The Mind is a spiritual creature.

The human body is a physical creature - it's a vehicle; its engine is the brain, which uses a system of electrical wiring to collect, distribute and store data. The engine-brain automatically governs routine bodily functions according to a program, written in the genetic code.

The body can do nothing except lay there and breathe - it needs commands to move - it needs a driver. The mind is the driver. One doesn't inherit a mind.

The mind engages the vehicle with commands to do something - to speak, to walk etc. If the body is sick or injured, it won't perform according to command. The mind is unaffected by the body's condition. When the mind departs from the body, the body stops working and dies.

What you describe is a robot; humans have coded it with a program that guides it through repetitive actions. The code tells the robot what action to perform when it receives a specific kind of incoming data and when to end each function. It cant depart from code. It stops working when it has no fuel source or it's "on" button is turned "off".

A mind is not physical so doesn't have code - it thinks and creates. No human can create living intelligence. So, artificial intelligence is not sentient - it's mechanical function; its driver is a human. It can't take over your life any more than your wristwatch can.

James Redford: Hi, Zanjan. Your previous two posts simply amount to bare assertions that do nothing to actually present an argument negating my previous reply to you.

The only thing that exists is Mind, i.e., Spirit. All that exists is simply information and nothing else. In physics, the upper bound on the number of bits required to perfectly emulate any finite physical system, called the Bekenstein Bound, is given as C*E/ln(2), where C is the circumference of a sphere that circumscribes the physical system and E is the total mass-energy of the system, both in Planck units, and ln(2) is the natural logarithm of 2.

For more on this matter, see Sec. 7.2: "The Aseity of God", pp. 37-43 of my following article:

Zanjan: "Your previous two posts simply amount to bare assertions"

What would you call *your* claim when it's never been performed? What I assert HAS been done. We're walking proof of that achievement.

Everything in the universe can be called "information" - it just requires a being to comprehend it ALL so they can apply it. That ain't going to happen because humans aren't omniscient. You won't produce God in a lab but you can realize Him through any kind of experience.

In short, Spirit is everything beyond the physical plane. Pantheism was blown out of the water long ago with logic and reason, not math. God, the First Cause, the Origin, can't be a part of physical creation any more than you can incorporate yourself into your post.

I do appreciate how theoretical physicists love their work and how far it has advanced in such a short time; maybe, one day, they'll actually be able to use what they've learned.

James Redford: Hi, Zanjan. Your prior comments are quite ironic, since you obviously believe that you are God. You simply make bare assertions with no evidence or rational argument. You behave here as if you think fundamental reality is obligated to obey your dictates.

The position that you're advancing is known as the Gnostic heresy. It's an error because it simply a priori assumes what the nature of reality is instead of looking to God's handiwork to tell us what His creation consists of. It further disengages people from attempting to understand God's own attributes by looking to God's works to inform us about Himself. It's a form of self-imposed, willful ignorance.

Paul appealed to reason when he wrote in Romans 1:19,20 that an understanding of the natural world leads to knowledge of God (NKJV):

""
because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, ...
""

As Paul quite clearly points out, even God's transcendent invisible and eternal attributes can be known by a study of physical reality. After all, the laws of nature are God's laws. In studying God's laws, one is necessarily studying the intellect of God.

Indeed, ever since Newton's physics, and especially with General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics (either separately or combined), God has always been a mathematically-unavoidable result. For more on this, see my following articles:

Zanjan: "God's transcendent invisible and eternal attributes can be known by a study of physical reality"

You're suggesting that this is the only means to know His attributes; also that all His attributes can be known. That's not really so.

Firstly, nature is just another expression of God's Will; as such, there's a sign of Him in each thing. In this we'd agree; however, you're talking about specific attributes - traits.

We can only recognize the attributes we share with God. Some are missing; if they weren't, we'd be perfect, infallible, and wouldn't need any Prophets or scriptures. We'd all agree and be one voice. A sense of humour and immutability are both attributes. Obviously, we lack the latter.

Justice and truthfulness are both virtues. How would you know these only through the physical reality? One can't always trust the eye.

"After all, the laws of nature are God's laws. In studying God's laws, one is necessarily studying the intellect of God."

Yes, like studying my intellect by the type of lock I put on my door and how short I cut my grass. Undoubtedly, you'll glean something out of that. Nothing can depart from some of God's laws yet some of them are easily ignored. He lets us do that.

On the matter of politics in relation to God, see my below article, which demonstrates the logically unavoidable anarchism of Jesus Christ's teachings as recorded in the New Testament (in addition to analyzing their context in relation to his actions, to the Tanakh, and to his apostles). It is logically complete on this subject, in the sense of its apodixis.

See also my below article, which demonstrates the logically unavoidable correctness of the anarcho-capitalist theory of human rights. It doesn't derive an "ought" from an "is"--rather, it derives an "ought" from an "ought": an "ought" everyone must necessarily presuppose in order to even begin to deny it.

Zanjan: Your perspective appears to be from an atheistic standpoint.

Jesus had nothing to do with politics or leaders of the land; He owned nothing, was poor, unemployed, nomadic and not famous in His own lifetime. He gave people what they didn't possess. That doesn't describe an anarchist.

Anarchist: Def: Noun.
" a person who advocates or believes in anarchy or anarchism. a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed."

Jesus never used violence and didn't seek to destroy the world or change any institutions - He left them behind for those who wanted them. Instead, He rescued individuals by creating a safe refuge from the world.

There's no such thing as "politics in relation to God" - God creates laws, none of which His subjects may question, argue, or change. He delivers knowledge for the education of souls.
