Zanjan: The only thing I could derive from that rapid-fire diatribe was an arguement about who possesses the Holy Spirit. No one was able to support their case.

Perhaps it's time to get back to the topic. Please contribute one Christian myth at a time, using intelligible typing. The object is to provide evidence, not opinions. Thank you, in advance, for your co-operation.

Zanjan: I think it's easier to overlook individual shortcomings - we all have some flaw that bugs somebody else.

When I was young, I was very shy and self-conscious but in trying to correct my flaws, I discovered the dangers of perfectionism. Once I let my hair down, more things became possible. I'm fond of atmospheres that make one feel comfortable doing that. Although it pains me to see one running rip shod over others, sometimes, it does clear up misunderstandings.

Maybe we've run out of the most rampant myths and have to settle for the less rampant ones?

Zanjan: Isn't polarity a natural dynamic? Spiritually, it's the sifter of wheat. That we're even talking to each other at all is a good sign........a sign of progress. We're no longer sweeping things under the carpet. In the last 40 years, everything has been exposed and that means we have to man up and deal with it.

I've noticed that as the world's senseless wars have dramatically decreased, the political polarities within peaceful countries have increased. When people riot against their own countrymen, that's a lot of sore nerves. They've been harbouring those for a long time so it can't be an easy life for them at all.

This threat to break up a country into side-countries to get your own way is a form of running away - it never satisfies and just incurs a whole lot more headaches than anticipated. Another myth busted.

The same is true of religion. Without co-operation, there can be no prosperity for anyone. When will they get tired of that? We're all interdependent so, who will provide the model for better conditions?

I think it must be the people in religion who need to change first, only because they have the means so it's within their power. They must lead the way but won't be motivated until they see others doing it ahead of them.

Zanjan: Not sure how different the world will look to the current generation - ominously called "Generation Z". The most dramatic changes have already occured; not even their parents have a memory of the world gone before.

Interestingly, humanity started naming generations in the 20th century, some of them after the fact. That's a precedent. The first one was the "G.I. Generation", beginning in 1900, sometimes referred to as "the Lost Generation". My parents belonged to the "Silent Generation ", which followed that.

You see, the whole world took a 160 degree turn after the world wars - a great generation gap suddenly occured, separating the Silent Generation from the Boomers. My generation had an entirely different mind; not only did we break away from the establishment (hardly the first time in history) but we were doing things nobody else had ever done before.

Boomers are the last people who remember what the Old World Order was like, first hand. We could see both right and left, backward and forwards. Our children never knew it - they were only taught historical events; it was enough to know that wasn't their world. The new generation (born 2011 to present) is amusingly called the "Alpha Generation".

Global governance and economy isn't a trend at all - true, it's still developing but, the framework is installed. It's all of the future. This was ordained by God 175 years ago so there's no looking back.

Zanjan: On track to the Christian myth of the Prince of Peace - wasn't Jesus; He didn't promise that. Peace couldn't be obtained until Christ took the government on His shoulders, according to prophecy. Has He?

We have to be very careful with technology now - it has its own problems and nearly everything is computerized. The more complex the device, the more things can go wrong and the more blame is passed. People demand compensation so it's harder to cover one's negligence. Soon, we won't be able to afford the rising insurance premiums.

I wonder who wants to buy the first ticket on the Boeing 737 Max when it returns to the skies.

Zanjan: Isaiah 9.6

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end"

Zanjan: Reading on, King David sat on a throne, governing the land. He had heirs.

Jesus was a spiritual king but not heir to a temporal throne; He didn't have any heirs either. His mission was fraught with turbulence and He never had any societal status or political influence.

Thus, we look to a God-Appointed Revelator Who's a legal Prince, a skilled statesman. He must have children and trace His physical lineage to the monotheistic Prophets all the way back to Abraham.

A Personage of such distinction has special protection and authority and will communicate with other Monarchs and Sovereign nations. He'll guide them on policy and the design of co-operative relations, business, trade, and so forth. This One promises God will, in this dispensation, establish peace - permanently.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

Zanjan: My body is the temple of my soul. I am the only entity associated with it. When I die, my body must be treated with respect and dignity.

Whereas, the Holy Spirit is a matchless power, breathed by the Revelator only on those individuals He chooses. That's rare.

However, you're right about this: none of us belong to ourselves. God has staked a great claim on us - this is why we can't do anything without His permission, and every one of us will return to Him. He is the All-Powerful.

Zanjan: Well, it's a myth that every prophecy in the Bible (both OT & NT) points to one Prophet in chronological time.

The problem with prophecy is no matter how clearly it's described, how boldly and indisputably it's fulfilled, there will be many who won't believe it because the clergy told them not to.

Zanjan: Yep, the commercial season when folks give each other presents instead of presents to the birthday boy.

The myth of Christmas – is not a gift-giving time. That’s not what Christians did because there was no Biblical instruction providing for that.

In the time of Jesus, nobody celebrated birthdays - they commemorated passings. It's still that way in the Middle East for most as a long-standing cultural tradition. They believed one shouldn't congratulate one's self for their own birth. If anyone deserves celebration, it's the birth mother but her reward is the live child. This explains why nobody knew the actual date of Jesus's birthday.

The first ever recorded Christmas celebration was in Rome, Dec 25, 336 A.D. It was a service, not a party. The gift-giving practice, which pagans did on the winter solstice festival (Dec 25) was banned in relation to the Christian Faith and not permitted until the 17th century. Then, it was compared to the gifts of the Three Wise men – personally, I don’t see the connection. Then Santa appeared in the 19th century.

What next for the party hounds, who drink and make merry?
